Well Lester pitched his best 1st inning of recent outings by a long margin but promptly gives up the gopher to Myers to start the 2nd.

No middle ground for Jon. Either nipping on the edges or gopher ball city. That was a beautiful pitch for a RH batter to hit.

More up and down ******** for Lester. I am longing for the days of 94-97 from Lester. I think his regression to 92-94 has really hurt him as a pitcher.

7 batter face, only 1 located 1st pitch strike (Molina). the other Meyers took him deep for a ball up and in, with his catcher setting low. His control sucks. He has more than enough stuff if he could locate.

Fausto Hernandez is at 41 pitches already, and he's not out of this inning. It doesn't look like Roberto Carmona will have a long stay on the mound tonight.

The thing I did not like about Lester's 1st inning is that he was compelled to show every pitch in his arsenal. Kind of unusual for a 1st inning.

Third base coach has to be the most thankless coaching job in sports. Only noticed when you're messing up.
Butterball gets plenty of notice every year.

The Sox aggression on the base paths is going to come back and bite sometimes. Given, you have to pick your spots better than that, and the Ortiz blunder tonight was awful and inexcuseable, but overall the 3B coach has not been bad at all IMO.

iglesias can't be far off from a demotion. Take the few dozen infield hits and slice it by half, he's hitting about .280, slice by half again and he's barely over the Mendoza line.

Lester is not pitching that badly so far. When he gets into those endless strings of 3-1 counts he is usually just a train wreck waiting to happen. Has not done that so far tonight.

My head hurts. I hope this was sarcastic.
