  1. Awful base running by Nava but that call was f***ing terrible.
  2. Awful base running by Nava.
  3. FWIW that same blog also tweeted Peyton Manning was signing with the Titans.
  4. Anyone seen anything from a credible source on this yet? Like I said in the other thread all I've seen is tweets from a guy from some no name blog.
  5. Are there any credible sources reporting that? All I've seen is some guy from a no name blog reporting it.
  6. Agreed. My whole original point in response to SoxSport was that we should wait to hear the conditions before criticizing Ben. Provided the PTBNL isn't a top 10 guy I believe it's far to ask why we couldn't make the deal happen.
  7. Did you read my post? I said myself it depends on the quality of the PTBNL. Edit: This is in response to User Name
  8. I would be all for it depending on the PTBNL. Provided it's not a prospect on the level of Ranaudo or Barnes, I think it's definitely fair to criticize Ben for not getting Crain.
  9. Do you know what the conditions are? Seems pretty ridiculous to criticize the Sox for not being in on this when you don't even know the conditions of the deal that was made.
  10. How do you know the Sox weren't in on him? Is it not possible the White Sox preferred what the Rays were willing to give up over what the Sox were offering?
  11. I make the deal and don't even think twice about it. But this is nothing like the Beckett trade. The players will not have nearly the impact that the guys in that deal did.
  12. I would never consider a SP to be blocked no matter how strong the rotation is. You can always make room for an up and coming SP.
  13. I don't know why anyone is even remotely interested in Norris. I wouldn't part with a single top 10 prospect, and I'm not even sure he's much of an upgrade over Workman.
  14. I disagree. I think 2010 and 2011 are outliers because he was hurt. I think he's certainly capable of being a top 3 starter in the rotation the next year and a half if he's acquired. Edit: This is in response to SR.
  15. It's a risk you have to take at the deadline. His deal is over after next year so if he's hurt it won't be crippling for years to come. There's not a single guy available with a higher ceiling over the next year and a half than Peavy. Granted you take a risk of giving up prospects for essentially nothing if he gets injured, but there's not a single guy available that doesn't come with his fair share of question marks.
  16. The difference is he's been pitching in the AL. He had a healthy 2012 and his numbers showed it. He was hampered by injuries the few years before that and struggled but he's definitely been putting it together the last 2 years. And he's still only 32.
  17. I think he most certainly can be. It's far from a sure thing but I think he's more than capable of slotting into the top 3 if he pitches to his potential.
  18. Hopefully they're able to get this one in tonight.
  19. Scouts and GM's don't always have the same opinion of players in different organizations.
  20. I want absolutely no part of Norris if any of the top 10 prospects in the system are going to be moved in the deal.
  21. He's out performed his career #'s so far in the majors. His first couple starts may have increased his value quite a bit to some teams, while everything I've read on the guy over his career have said he projects as a bullpen guy. Granted the scouts have been wrong before but I think he's a great candidate to be moved while his value is a bit inflated.
  22. Peavy is coming off one of the best seasons of his career in which he threw about 220 innings. His injury earlier this year was a rib, and the injury will actually prevent him from hitting his player option for 2015 which is a good thing. The money left on his deal will scare some other teams away I believe. I think he's a great fit and I'd give up a package centered around WMB for him in a heart beat. If something like WMB/Workman/Marrero for Peavy is a possibility I'd pull the trigger.
  23. Let's keep it rolling here. Looking for another solid outing out of Doubront.
  24. Great decision by Butterfield to send Drew there.
  25. Way to pick up the slack there Drew!
