The only way we lose the division is if we play like s*** down the stretch. I dont care about schedules' date=' when this team is playing well, nobody can beat them. They just ran off 8 wins in a row with minimal pitching. Now, they actually get 2 good outings and they cannot hit. Its the ebb and flow of the game. Our offense will outdo TB, which is why I think we win the division by 2-3 games[/quote']

With the exception of those eight games, they haven't played well for an extended period of time during the second half. They're going to go into almost every series they play the rest of the way without the pitching matchups favoring them. But hey, maybe Good AJ will show up and they'll be saved!!

If we hit, we win the division, period. The regular season is all about offense. The post season is mostly about offense but pitching has a bigger hand in it. People seem to look at power pitching and overreact that CC and AJ were the reasons we won. We scored an ass load of runs and hit the piss out of the ball late in games. Both were important.

Hitting is easier said than done in the postseason. Aside from two bad starts from AJ, they got anywhere from adequate to excellent starts in the other thirteen games. As of right now expecting that from this rotation would be unrealistic.

By the way, the Yankees haven't been swept at home in a three or four game series since their series against the Mets in 2008. They also haven't been swept in any three or four game series this year.

And where is Thames?

Berkman against lefties is essentially an automatic out. The way he's hitting right now, Granderson isn't.

Also, Buck is able to counter Thames with a righty. If Thames had pinch hit for Berkman, he wouldn't have been able to. Not at all surprised to see Joe out-managed by Buck.

Has to be Posada here.

EDIT: Girardi is horrendous. There just isn't anything more to say at this point. Time and time again he does something dumb. Please go to the Cubs Joe.

Jeter sucks now' date=' and that's fine. The problem is that they refuse to move him to the bottom of the order.[/quote']

I've been waiting for this day for years. To hear this from a Yankee fan has overwhelmed me with emotion.

The only team that scares me in the playoffs is TB. Texas has Cliff Lee and nothing else that scares me in the playoffs' date=' and he's hurt. Minnesota has nobody that worries me in a playoff series. Tampa is the only team that can run up 2 starters that I think we'll have trouble with in Price and Shields (who has dominated us this yr). We won the WS last yr based on good enough pitching and a lot of offense. If our offense goes into a hole again, then we dont win regardless of pitching performance[/quote']

it's not like the yankees are in much better shape. the yankees have sabathia and no one else who's all that scary

Girardi said in the post game interview Posada wasn't available today, he was experiencing concussion symptons, didn't sleep well last night and had a headache today.

Yup. I still disagree with not pinch hitting, but because of this news, it definitely isn't as bad a decision as it seemed at the time.

Our offense is scarier than any lineup in the game and our bullpen is lights out. All we need is 5IP from anyone not named Pettitte or Sabathia and we have a good chance.
