BTW' date=' huge homer there from Swisher. It really would have been embarrassing getting swept at home by the O's.[/quote']

Even worse, he said "by the way", which is used to convey a thought that might not have occurred to everyone, but followed it up with "water is wet" type obvious observations. Douchery.

Example getting pissy with a Yankee fan. Lol! It's about time. If you interact with them long enough, you come to realize that they should never be treated with respect. I live with them. They are a loathsome group. Keep up the good work.

Doing well' date=' and u?[/quote']

I'm ok, long time away from here, dealing with life's curveballs (divorce) but things lookin' up for sure.

Fkn Swisher...even I can't muster up any hate for the guy.

Our offense is scarier than any lineup in the game and our bullpen is lights out. All we need is 5IP from anyone not named Pettitte or Sabathia and we have a good chance.

you mean the same lineup that's getting held to 3 runs or less every other game? they're the best team at beating up on bad pitching but they've been wildly inconsistent

They've actually hit some pretty good pitchers as of late, and really over the course of the entire season. You're right, they're inconsistent, but I don't necessarily think there's a correlation based on how good the opposing team's starting pitcher is.

they did hit cahill and danks well, i'll give them that. but they were held to 2 earned runs or less by romero, lester, buchholz, hernandez, sherzer, braden and anderson

i think their overall offensive numbers are a bit misleading considering they've scored only 3 runs or less in almost half of their games over the last month. they just nearly got swept by the orioles because they couldn't score more than 3 runs in any of their games against a horrible pitching team. if that happens in the playoffs, their season could be over in a hurry

I doubt the Yankees offense is playing up to there full potentional while they're already garunteed to make the playoffs.

they've been hitting like this for more than a month, well before they were guaranteed a spot

While I agree that they're inconsistent, it's also worth noting that Girardi never plays the full lineup, which (if everyone stays healthy) will be a different story come playoff time.

In the playoffs you'll likely see a lineup that looks like this...

LF Gardner

SS Jeter

1B Teixeira

3B Rodriguez

2B Cano

RF Swisher

C Posada

DH Berkman/Thames

CF Granderson

In pretty much every single game, they're missing at least one of these guys, usually more than one. They have concerns (which you have mentioned), but I feel good about this lineup come playoff time.

I agree, and look at the guys we have sucked against. All rookie/young pitchers with marginal stuff but good changeups. The Yankees seem to hit pitchers better when they have more experience against them. They're professional hitters. If the Twins or the Rangers wanted to beat us, they'd start Lee/Liriano then their entire AAA rotation for the rest of the series.

Yankees got screwed there. A wild pitch that ricochets back to the catcher and a 3-1 strike call on a pitch well out of the zone with the sacks packed. Wilson's pitch count is up, but that sucked a lot

Wilson gets an absolute gift on 3-1 and then gets out of it. Between that, and the brick backstop, he was extremely lucky to not have given up a run. On the flip side, no hard hit balls.

Quite an unlucky night so far for the Yankees. Just about everything from soft hits to bad calls has gone against them, and we're only in the bottom of the second.
