Gomez was never the right person to trade for in the beginning

 

You and I agree on that. Gomez is exactly the kind of player you shouldn't go after IMHO. Power without OBP at least does some good. speed without OBP is totally useless.

His only skill that can be used offensively is his speed, and that can't even be used because he's a black hole in the lineup. So yeah, we completely agree. Defensively, he's one of the best, his glove is top tier. If Gomez had a bat and an eye, he could be elite, but that's not even close to the case.

Does it make any sense to make a play for Kenshin Kawakami? He expressed interest in Boston when he first appeared last year on the free agent market, and he pitched well last year for Atlanta.

Mid 30s Japanese pitchers are typically red flags since they are of slighter build than most, and the throwing programs in Japan have the pitchers throwing SO much.

I'm not certain that the Mets finances are being fully taken into account, but I'll admit that it seems more likely for them to deal someone like Reyes than Beltran. I certainly wouldn't be angry at the Sox for looking at it nonetheless.

 

Any team that tells other teams a player is absolutely unavailable, don't even talk about it, is going about it the wrong way. They should always listen, and just say no most of the time.

If you write exactly the opposite of what Jacko writes, then you're undervaluing your success rate if you're using a mere 95% as your accuracy. Don't be modest.

So, since Jacko is wrong all the time, only 10% is your own thinking and you are wrong 5% of the time, then you are wrong 50% of the time. Both you and Jacko have terrible track records.
