  1. There is little choice but to keep throwing him out there at this point. I'm not really sold on Mitre.
  2. We shall see. Thanks for your response, in all seriousness. It's good to see that you understand the inherent humor and futility of such an exercise.
  3. Although I'm not involved in this trading proposal, I'm glad to see people are doing something. On another note...I have 6 closers. I would like to move 1 or 2. Let me know if you need bullpen help.
  4. Never. I understand baseball's scoring rules. However, it is kind of ******** if you ask me. A guy makes an error, and a run scores because of it, fine. However, If he gives up three hits to follow it and they score three more runs, all of them are unearned. That's a ridiculous rule, if you ask me. Cameron made the error, fine. What about the hitters after that? This is not a knock on the pitcher, just on the rule. After a phenomenal catch that saves two runs, you don't chalk up the runs to the pitcher saying "well, he shouldn't have caught that ball anyways". Just my two cents anyways. The Red Sox FO and their sheep on this board. Seriously, going after a defensive team when you play in a band box is not the best course of action. The premise behind UZR is excellent, but the formulation and dissemination of the data is faulty, which is why the statistic is useless. Not because of the premise, but because of the application of the data...and I may be giving it to much credit. Also, if you are going to build a team on defense and run prevention, it is a waste of resources to keep the worst catcher in baseball at "run prevention". I think at this point, those that were debating me about the importance of a catcher behind the plate are eating TONS of s*** right now, and downing it with cases of SHUT THE f*** UP. If they feel to argue some more, pllease refer to GOM's Fearless Predictions, number 7. Here is the link if you need it. http://www.talksox.com/forum/general-baseball-forum/13981-goms-fearless-predictions.html  a700, you are not in this group. You've been harping the same case as me for a while.
  5. How are my predictions looking so far?
  6. Ignore me baby. Too bad you can't hit the ignore button on "run prevention", especially in Fenway.
  7. And that is????
  8. It's amazing that people still pine for the old Ortiz. The guy build a career on drugs. He never was a good hitter before the drugs, and now is not a good hitter after the drugs. He's finished.
  9. Dude, he can't stop until he gets all the words out of his head. Don't you know that by now?
  10. Wasn't Beltre part of the "Run Prevention Squad"? It's going to be fun to watch the Red Sox blow up this plan in the off-season.
  11. There is no reason to believe that his power won't improve. He has the easiest swing I've seen since Griffey. His power surge is nothing to be surprised about. Although he won't hit 60, I fully expect him to hit 30-35 homers this season and hit above .320. He is finally learning patience, and wait until Arod and Tex start hitting, and the pitchers have to pitch with him on base. I know it's April, but I'm glad the Pedroia/Cano debate is over.
