I had to nab Peavy and Garza, not sure if I reached for them but my draft position doesn't let me go with draft trends and have to guess what's going to happen after me and watch everyone I want fall. I literally watch every pitcher I desired get chosen.

I wanted a power pitcher with high upside, and there's no power pitcher with greater upside right now than David Price.

really moving now' date=' who the f*** is wainwright?[/quote']

im interested in seeing some of your picks in the later rounds...

see, here's my problem with David Price. You have the choice to designate him as a starter or reliever. If you go reliever, Id say its too early to take any kind of reliever. If you starter, its hard to justify taking a guy who hasn't had one major league start and hasn't pitched more than 109 innings in his life....at least this early

I took Josh Johnson with my latest pick. I consider it a reach, but a very high upside one. As with my offense, I'm looking to draft and build my pitching staff in a certain way.

Well I've got my shortstop. Stephen Drew of the Arizona Diamondbacks is a solid, young all-around shorstop that just really hit his stride last year with 20 bombs. He's a bit of a risk because unlike his brother he doesn't have a good OBP, meaning he's a candidate for a step backwards. Also unlike his brother though, he stays in the field.

Really' date=' really like the Stephen Drew pick.[/quote']

Yeah, I actually got nervous seeing all the good SS's taken and scoured the depth charts looking for the guy you all forgot about. My last 2 picks have been really good IMHO after overreaching a bit early on.

I was gonna take Jimmy Rollins, but he's 30. That's a little too old for the purposes of this thread.

Again, it's an upside pick.

I want him as a starter, and i'm pretty damn confident he's gonna be in the ML level this year, and i'm also confident he's gonna be dominant, making my staff having awesome co-aces at the top of the rotation.

I didn't want my turn to come around again and have all of the pitchers I wanted to be off the board.

Now you can see why I picked Danks.

I told I'd let you know when you slipped when you advised that there was a method to the madness.

Method appears to be what most would assume at face value. You want sluggers. This is fine, but your pitcher selection methodology does not appear to compliment it. Hamilton and Braun will knock the ball out of the park regularly on offense, and they'll come up short of shagging flies on the defensive end with similar frequency. JJ isn't a fly-ball pitcher, but he doesn't make you pound it into the ground either. Plus, he's got a low HR/FB rate and a low IFFB/FB rate, meaning he needs outfielders who can chase the ball down. Hamilton and Braun won't do that.
