Ethier is a fine pick. Was definitely on my board. If last year's Maholm is the real Maholm, then he is also a good pick. Could be another Joe Saunders, in which case you might be in trouble.

Really kinda surprised that Napoli was still there in the 4th round. he's not as big a name than Martin or McCann but he's got a ton of power and carries his weight defensively. He is a better overall hitter than Russel Martin right now, but Martin gets all the hype..

In 5 years he'll be at the latter end of his prime and probably still be putting up 20 HR's and a .340-.360 OBP. Not too freakin' bad for the catcher spot.

REALLY surprised that Doumit went before Napoli on this board considering how Napoli abuses Red Sox pitching.

You really thought Napoli would slip through 4 rounds of drafts? A 20 HR catcher? When he's the only good young power hitting catcher left on the board? I mean who was I supposed to pick, Dioner Narvarro?

Anyway, my roster's taking shape well. A good 1-2 punch in the rotation and strong up the middle offense.

I needed a SS. Thought I'd take a younger guy with high potential. Better then taking one of the limited ceiling established guys.

Andrus doesn't even have gap power. You should have gone for Yunel Escobar instead. He was my second pick if I hadn't got S. Drew.

The only problem with Napoli is he's never played 100 games in a season. Mostly because of Jeff Mathis, but maybe there are other reasons we're not privy to.

That's why he wasn't a first rounder.

Even if he needs to platoon to be effective, if you have that kind of power out of the catcher spot you go for it.

I wasn't worried about the offense too much. It was between the two, so I took the player playing in Texas. Offense numbers should get him a moderate boost.

How are the two compared defense wise?

Nice pick' date=' DipreG. I was hoping Zimmerman would fall to me on the serpentine.[/quote']

I'll take .290-25-100 and GG defense from my 3B any day of the week.

That gives me quite the offense/defense combo at the IF corners with him and Gonzales.

I was gonna take Yunel Escobar but seeing as how one of my corner outfielders lacks power (Crawford in LF), I needed to make up for it in another position

I was nearly sure you're a record medal-holder of the special olympics, and that post confirmed my suspicions.
