I took Strasburg(I think that someone said that was allowed, since he will be drafted this season). I know it is a reach, but I wasn't sure how much longer he be out there so I decided to roll the dice on him now. if that move wasn't allowed sorry just let me know and I will re-pick.

Strausburg is on no major league roster.

He cannot be picked.

See I wasn't sure. I though Coco Disciples brought it up and it was allowed. Guess I should have read back through the thread a little.

Ok I switched to Francisco Liriano. I wanted to at least one LHP in my SP rotation. 2 years ago, he would have likely been a 1st round pick here. I know he had TJ surgery, but he looks like he is recovering well. I know it's a riskier pick. But I think it holds some value.

Gonna have to manipulate the picks so I have my pick right after the draft...

Dibs is Dibs. Sorry he belongs to me. I may consider selling his rights though;)

So can I officially call Zambrano my DH-P?

Heck, if Boston had Zambrano in its rotation right now it might voluntarily waive the DH rule every 5 days the way things are going with the big fella.

f*** you.

I shouldn't have said anything about Strausburg, but this an outstanding pick.

I'm actually glad you did. My first intention was to draft Liriano, but when I logged on it wasn't my turn. Then between that time and the Strasburg selection I forgot about Liriano.

I thought everyone think it was too risky of a pick. But given your response, I wasn't the only one thinking of him:lol:

we'll see how he returns from TJ' date=' early returns aren't great...[/quote']

He's past 18 months. Which is usually the time they get stronger.

As mentioned in the picks thread, Strasburg is eligible because he will be drafted and signed this season, and the goal is to build the best team over the next 5 years.

Liriano is still available.

well i had three pitchers that i wanted this round, it was Verlander, then Liriano, a couple position players, and another pitcher that i hope will fall through to me again. With Liriano becoming re-available, that was the choice.

Really difficult pick, everyone on my draft board was snatched. I didn't want to take Tillman this early, but at this rate I was starting to think he might not be around for my next pick.

Your rotatin is excellent, but you'll have to really scramble to find a good balance of offense and defense to support them. You've still got no up the middle talent.

And of course, my front 3 (Greinke-Shields-Zambrano) can stand up to your front 3 while at the same time I've got my primo positions covered with solid two-way talent.

Yeah, I would say balance is key.

Kazmir is better than Danks? Debatable. Kazmir might be better than your 3rd starter, though.

I've already added young star power at C, 1B and 3B, while picking up 2 solid SPs, and a gamble on a budding superstar.

Keep looking at the master working his magic in his upcoming rounds :D

I'm looking forward to my next few picks. I'm just wondering if I can afford to wait on some guys in later rounds. Wish I was a mind reader.

Depends, SPs are going pretty quickly, and up-the middle positions are growing scarce as well.

There's still some value in the infield but if you want a well-known, young player you'd better move pretty fast.
