16 teams x 30 picks x 2 days = 960 days = 2.6 years

Let's pick quick when we can folks, this thing has the potential to take a while. If it goes full clock on every pick, the winner may be the last man standing.

If need be we can reduce the time to pick to one day.

If an individual misses one pick, they immediately pick upon entering the thread.

If an individual misses two picks, they are out of the league and their picks are re-entered into the "pool"

Haha' date=' both moderators are first. Kilo knows which side his bread is unbanned on.[/quote']

Didn't even notice that, haha.

Tulowitzki is a very interesting pick, especially at #1 - what was the rationale for that pick, especially at #1?

I think the clock is fair. It's a bit unreasonable to expect everyone to be here every day. I'm just asking that people don't put it off for later in their 2 day window when they know they are up.

That window is going to get wide.

Going for the all typo team?

Mark Grudzielanek!

As a cosmetic note - can everyone's picks be made in bold from now on? It'll make it easier when I have to update the table.

I was between Hanley and Pujols myself. I chose Hanley because of position scarcity (though Hanley could very well move to CF sometime in the near future), and the speed. Hanley's also younger. Either pick would have been reasonable.

I hereby propose that nicknames that clearly belong to one player are admissable "names."

Such as "Salty" for Saltalamacchia,

And I don't think I typoed either name.

I didn't mean typo as in your mistake, just the long names.

Kilo: Probably should have asked this earlier, but are we supposed to be picking realistic teams, as in considering defense, batting order, bullpen roles?

In a way.

If you wanted to draft Miguel Cabrera and make him your catcher, more power to you, but you have to understand all of the things that comes with (ie your pitching staff will suffer tremendously).

Things like park factors will not be of significance, think of making a team how they would perform in a perfectly neutral ballpark.

I'm going to draft mine that way.
