McLouth is a "meh" pick only because he's destined for a COF spot and I don't know if he can hit well enough to justify it.

Oh right, we're supposed to take specific OF positions into account. Does it hurt me if I "play" McLouth at CF even if he isn't?

It does and it doesn't - I think if you play him in CF your offensive production from there will be good, but the defense will suffer.

 

The opposite is true if you stick him in LF or RF. His defense will be good, but he might not hit enough.

 

Still, you could do a lot worse for value here. He is only 27.

I don't mind the McLouth pick. He's still relatively young and 5-toolsish. Hardly ever gets caught stealing; his career ratio is 61:5. That's outstanding. Good line drive hitter. He also gives you flexibility in your batting order. You can bat him at the top or somewhere in the middle. Sort of a poor man's Grady Sizemore, but that's not really a knock on him at all.
