ok i made my choice Fausto Carmona, he was great in 07 and injured last year. but idk what the general concensus is on this guy, some one clue me in.

Not really. the stuff is there for sure - plus it would be castig's 3rd starter. Not a bad option to have.

 

I thought he'd be available in later rounds but I think it's an OK pick.

Both have stuff. Carmona's stuff is better. Both are an extreme reach at this point.

Over 5 ERA in three of his four seasons. Duke started had a great first season, had a couple of rocky years, and appears to righted the ship this season. Leading me to think he was slow in making proper adjustments rather than him being a fluke.

 

I do admit it was a small reach, but I need starting pitching that has staying power now and in five years in the worst way.

One thing I will say for Duke's benefit is that he is a LHP, and sometimes they take longer to develop (Randy Johnson, for example).

Wandy Rodriguez is one of them, his K/9 have been trending up and his BB/9 have been going down the last three years - underrated pitcher and a solid pick here.

I went for Gordon because he's going to be a monster and good 3B's have been going fast. msubulldogs might be smart to draft a 1B and move Youks over.

I picked Madison Bumgarner. He's the top LHP prospect behind David Price. Pitching in the NL West will be an added bonus for him when he reaches the bigs.

 

I'm curious to see what the general public opinion is on him here.

I'm sure he's a lovely pitcher but it's early to be picking guys who've never pitched above AA

Yeah, that was also my assessment of the pick. Tommy Hanson is supposed to be can't-miss, but I think Jacko picked him too early as well.

Had to go for the high-risk/high-reward pick for my CP here.

 

Papelbon's been a nightmare this year, and that shoulder could blow up any time now.

 

That being said, he gets it done, and with a bit of luck he might still have 3-4 elite years left, which made the safest pick in the bullpen in my opinion.
