Sugger is the GOAT. I'll be his hype man.

Do you know if Slugger is Male, or Female?🤔

Yes, but it doesn't matter because Slugger is just a mascot. You trying to score a date?

Is Slugger even real?🤔🤫

By your so called analysis yes., but how many players would get up all year with no one on base? How many?🙈🤭

Zero.

My example makes a the point you totally missed, as always.

That is the extreme case. The other extreme would be a players comes up every PA with bases loaded.

The reality is ther is a wide range in between, and some players get way more chances than others. It's not changing numbers or making excuses. It's giving real numbers and facts that have a clear relatio0nship to total RBIs.

Another factor is total PAs. To you a guy with 101 RBIs is 700 PAs produced more than a guy with 100 in 500 PAs. Your feeble mind just can't handle things that aren't even all that complex.

Oh no! And I thought all these years the REAL numbers were the ones that actually went up on the scoreboard.🤭

MOOn is talking about a feeble mind? You, and I are on totally different points to begin with, and you’ve taken it in a totally different direction, and run wild with it. All your examples have NOTHING to do with the point I made in the first place. People used to shake their heads in disbelief when I would show them your post, but they stopped doing that a long time ago, and now just expect it, and accept it in still disbelief.🙈

You showing others my posts confirms my assessment.

Your clown friends agree with you, so you must be right, and I'm the feeble-minded one. LMAO.

Giving facts about RBI opportunities is not "running wild." It's simply adding context to the RBI numbers. You seeing it as "wild" says more about you than me.

Feeble mind, and now clown friends. MOOn showing all your word salads that you regurgitate every day has been shown passed around for years now, and those so called clown friends have called you a lot worse than that. All your examples, or facts you keep putting out there is just to justify your point. Not my point. Once. Again we are on two DIFFERENT points, and have been since the beginning. Keep up the good work, because you provide laughs for many. Have a good day.👋

Wally is just boring. Sorry, but there's nothing really there. Slugger is a star.

"Now?" They've always been clowns and called that often.

My facts are not meant to justify your point. That illustrates how your feeble mind works by even saying that.

I'm glad you get a laugh, and I bring some levity into your tiny world.

Does this mean POR needs a new mascot?

Maybe a big hairy dog with fins?

We should project to be better on offense before any moves, but I am firmly in the camp of adding a major bat (or two really good ones.)

+ Mead

+ a full season of AR over horrific catcher numbers on offense from Narvaez.

+ a full season of Anthony

Maybe upticks from Abreu, Durbin and Rafaela.

Maybe downticks from Contreras, Story and Duran.

Who knows what from Arias, Gasper/Casas, Romy/Sogard/Seigler/Monasterio, Yoshida/White/Jones

All teams have injuries, and the Yanks beat us without Judge, so we need to improve and plan on some injuries in 2027, too.

So if we have unrealistic optimism regarding injury luck, and we assume no dro offs, we may be better than 25th best offense.

This is just the same recipe as last offseason, and you may get that great luck, but most likely we will have 1-2 injuries and/or drop-offs, and we'll be here again next year after a similar season to the one we just had.

Candlepin, whoopie pie, bean suppahs... I think the Candlepins have been two years in a row. 🤔

I think normal regression gets them to at least 15th anyway.

Its not hard to finish in the top 15 out of 30 when 10 teams are selling off by the deadline.  Yes, some years we struggle to do so and if we are like 8th in offense (which is nothign great, and again not particularly hard) there are some of us that cheers.

Im not sure how ownership got the fanbase to be so complacent. But half my friends are like this too.  They really dont mind a .500 club, and would rather that then upgrade guys who are cheap, solid but guys who generally dont start on championship teams.

If we want to get further, we need to strive to be better and not fall into the trap of complacency. I know you know this.

That and just normal injury totals.

I'm not complacent, it's the ownership that's complacent. I have no ability to make trades or sign players.

I want a whole host of deals done this offseason, but I don't believe they are really going to do it.

What I'd do:

Eat money on Story and trade

Trade Duran for prospects, relievers, anything

Trade Abreu, Arias, Bennett, more for Elly SS

Sign Suzuki for LF

Sign Pivetta as 4th Starter

C Adley, 1B Conteras, 2B Mead, SS Elly, 3B Durbin, RF Roman, CF Rafaela, LF Suzuki, DH Masa

SP Crochet, Tolle, Suarez, Pivetta, Bello

Team could be worse if there's a big injury, but it could be A LOT better than '26 if things break right as the lineup is much deeper.

Not bad, but Roman in RF scares me. I'm thinking bubble wrapped in the dugout between DH ABs is scary enough.

Agree…. Sounds a lot like 2026 playbook

Good thing then that Breslow has a long term contract and that I'm not next in line.

We do need to plan for injuries, but I think we had decent depth, this year, especially SP'er depth. We went on our long winning stretch with Cheng/Monasterio at SS and a mix of guys at 2B.

We went into 2026 knowing a bunch of players were starting the year on the IL- some on the 60. We don't seem to have a bunch of those types' now.

Gasper might start the year on the IL. These guys have been or seem to have become "injury prone:"

Story

Anthony

Slaten

Crawford (got another injury while on the IL,)

I don't consider Houck or Mead as "prone." Maybe add Crochet?

asking Anthony to pick up the slack straight out of the minors.

I don't think that's a real thing.  I doubt any team goes up to a prospect and asks them to replace a veteran's production.  I think it's more likely to be 'don't try to do too much too soon'.

I think his numbers suffered because theyre asking him to be a home run or nothing kind of player.

This and the RS asking RA to to replace stars.  Am I the only one without access to the RS FO?

In 545 PA - roughly one season worth across 2 years - he has hit .271/.371/.433 (OPS+ 126).  You might have expected more, and he might be capable of more, but I hardly call that struggling.

If 26% above league average is “struggling”, what isn’t?

What were his numbers if you take away the end of 2025?  I know he was hurt and had to do effectively 2 spring trainings but he was not good this season, at the plate or in the outfield.  Not calling him a bust but surely disappointed, especially after the World Baseball Classic.
