would love to see Bello actually start and go long and not be bad as a SP. As good as he has been as long reliever, this is a good time for him to get an occasional start to really help out.

I don't get starting Miller for 1 inning.  He hasn't started since 2024.  He's become a legit closer.  Why F around with that?  Are they trying to boost and justify the Bello contract?

Exactly.....we can look at him as a starter next year. Can't afford to screw around right now. We have five healthy starters right now.

That might be a 2027 project, if then.  But I see nothing wrong with Bello throwing 5 innings and 85 pitches, with Miller taking over for one inning.  And if they do that in the reverse order, I fail to see any difference.

I'm not saying the Sox have returned to Earth yet, but they may be reaching the Earth's atmosphere.
