The team that could not win now cannot lose. Baseball is silly.

Suarez scratched for tonight. He will go tomorrow night.

Rivera gets the nod, tonight. Could be a real tough game to win.

Is Bello the back up plan to Rivera  tonight ?  Potential significant rain in the forecast for game time and later.

Probably a good idea not to expose Suarez to slippery conditions.    Good possibility of no game.

Or being in the clubhouse for a rain delay.

If tonight is rained out, both teams are free on Thursday.

They'd probably play a day-nighter on WED.

Meanwhie, apropos of nothing, check out the double play ending the Dodgers game last night.   Dale Berra Award for worst base-running of the season.

I don't like the rainout, you almost don't want to stop playing when you're this hot.

It's going to really start to feel like a special season if they come back today and tie the record at 15.

Nice play by the LAD as well.  Muncy didn't panic when the runners broke for home.  They handled the rundown perfectly.  And when the runner fell down in front of Betts, instead of trying to reset, he threw the ball flat-footed to 2nd.

I have been a bit concerned about Chapman for a month. Now it's a flat out concern.  He is no longer automatic and makes me nervous.  Need a few good outings for me to feel better.

Maybe he's coming out of the funk.

in 3 of his last 5 games, he did not allow a hit and the other two just one hit each. The 3 BBs in his last two games is concerning, but he walked none if 5 games beforrehand.

I didn't go back too far, because I'm not sure it's relevant, but he had a bad May in 2022, 2023 and 2024, and had a bad June in 2021.  Maybe this is his 'dead arm' period.
