yep. i love guys like him, durbin and seigler. and one of the things i always like about sale. they seem to be the polar opposite of guys like Mayer and anthony.

My favorite streak was during the 'todd Bellinger' years (two of them), when after flailing about for a half-year and me deciding just to relax and root for .500, they went something like 22-1.   Until this streak, I remembered that as 20-0.

Now we need a Tracy equivalent...but the Tr is a challenge. First thing I thought of was Tracy Triumph, but quickly realized it's pretty bad.

Tracy hasn’t had any Morgan Moments.

Early in that streak, Morgan pulled Mike Greenwell, who was the MVP runner-up that year (or MVP winner, non-steroid division) so sub.200 hitting Kevin Romine could pinch run for him.  Romine stayed in te game and hit a 9th inning walk off home run in the 9th.

Who pulls a player having an MVP-caliber season for a pinch runner before the ninth, only to insert the guy that hits the walk off?

Guessing that was an MLB first…

I think Contreras has made a bigger contribution than just the numbers.

I'm glad we got him over Alonso. We coulda got both, but with Anthony/Duran as LF/DH and Yoshida/Romy as back-up DHs, I can see why we did not go that way.

Now, Durbin over Bregman looks better for the O and at least as good on D.

The middle infield and catcher slots have been the positions that hurt and could have been expected.
