1. Red Sox first 9-0 road trip since 1977.

2. Sox have swept 4 of the last 5 series.  That’s crazy.

We only had won two series in a row once- way back in early/mid April.

It is crazy!

The one series we lost in this stretch was to WSH. The one before that was to COL.

W2-1 SEA

L1-2 COL

W4-0 NYY

L1-2 WSH

W3-0 LAA

W3-0 CWS

W3-0 NYM

It does clear it up, because earlier you said one way or another, implying maybe be all out buyers.

I'd rather see us sell than do nothing or very minor buying, but above all, I don't want to see us trade Eyanson or Arias to try and win now.

To me by choice (and this could change in 21 days) :

1. (Barely) Sell all free agents to be and maybe 2 year players, too.

2. (Barely) Mildly buy a bat and RP'er for prospects like Cespedes and maybe Phillips at most.

3. Buy moderately by trading Witherspoon or Valera and maybe Gonzales, Azocar or Godbout

4. Buy all out to try and win in 2026 (trading Arias and or Eyanson)

I said, I believe, that the worst possible alternative is to hedge AGAIN. I think we are on the same page except sell for me is much preferred. But if we are going to be buyers go all in. We have the pitching staff to compete but we will need at least one more good RHH and for Anthony to return.

You thought and think this team sucks, yet you act like we are now 1-2 players away from a ring.

How many days ago was he quoting stats about how we had no chance?

3-3 in extras.

Nice editing.  You left off “especially on the road.”

At the time I wrote that, they were 0-2 in extras on the road this year (now1-2).  They were something around 1-8 in extras on the road last year.  Today doesn’t change those stats very much; they are bad in extras on the road mostly because they have been terrible about moving the ghost runner up and scoring him, leaving the home te needing only one run to win.

If we are as bad as you think, "all in" cannot be even close to enough, and it would ruin the future.

That's one reason I am still for selling, although I'm nearly on top of the fence of 50-50.

If I ever get to the "buy" side of the fence, I will not be for trading Arias or Eyanson.

I might go as high as Witherspoon or Valera and Gonzales or Godbout, but not 3 of these 4 prospects. Okay, maybe Valera, Gonzales & Godbout, if it got us two studs, which they wont, but hey, Aldo Ramirez got us Schwarber, so...

As I have written we have the pitching to compete, but we will need a lot of help offensively. We aren't completely awful, but there is no legitimate source that even gives us even odds to get into the playoffs. This should have been taken care of over the winter. Its wasn't. The talent was out there, but Henry was too cheap to pay for it and/or BresLOW was too dumb to make it happen. The team isn't terrible, but it needs a lot of help and I am not sure BresLOW is smart enough to get it without giving up the farm. From what I hear teams do not want to deal with him.

Pitching and defense wins rings, but during the season you have to score runs and we aren't capable of that right now.

Fangraphs gives us about a 40% chance. Vegas much less than that.

We were 2-3 before today.  There is a 50% you can be 2-3 or worse, or 3-2 or better.  IRT to road extras, we were 6-4 in 2024.  Add 1-8 to that and we are 7-12.

I don't think there is anything else there besides normal variance.  The Yankees are 1-4 in extras on the road this year.

Just admit we aren't close to being good enough to go "all in." If you can't, then all your talk of us being flops was in jest.

Gladly. As currently constructed we aren’t good enough to go all in. That’s why I want us to be sellers. Second choice-buyers. Last choice-hedge

Having all in second doesnt make sense, if we are as bad as you think.

We aren’t good enough to compete for a ring right now. Add a couple of good bats to replace some of the bums and we could compete. It all depends on how BresLOW does at the TD. The pitching and defense are good enough. The offense needs improvement.

We aren't getting 2 controlled bats at the deadline. Thats not what all in is.

One is Anthony. The second one needs to be obtained. Perhaps one additional accessory piece to replace a bum now on the team. Same as over the winter. Yes-it will not be cheap. But we don’t have the pitching and defense every year to compete like this year.

Better still, BresLOW could admit he screwed up this past winter and just sell.

I'm not buying it.

You shoulda just stuck with calling us "flops" and beyond any hopes of midseason turnarounds, by saying "even with 2-3 additions."
