Red Sox win the series, but are still 5 games back of the WC on Thursday AM. Then they come back for some home cooking for NYY and WSH. 🤩

Hey Moon, Betts had 399 at bats in AA/AAA. Arias is at 266 at bats. So in 33 games he can be called up? OPS is similar but Arias already has 16 HR to Betts 12 HR in less at bats. Why are we afraid to give him a promotion?

Why is it that special young players only come out of 'other' organizations? You say what's the rush? Well because we suck. We have the worst OPS at SS and the guy that makes $23M has limited range and weak arm. Why do we keep making excuses for our veterans? Oh of course I forget that we are the only team to draft mental midgets. We may do him PERMANENT damage if he doesn't succeed at first.

Let's wait till we give him 1000 at bats and he's good and ready. Meanwhile the clock is ticking on Crochet's contract.

Arias and Betts are not remotely the same player. Maybe he winds up with the same offensive profile as Xander, but better defense? Maybe? Really overselling what the expectations are for Arias. He's not some savior that is going to come up and lead this team. He'll be a bottom of the order bat for the first few years.

People made Betts comparisons with Rafaela when he was in MiLB too because of his power output. Just remember how much different the pitching is from level to level.

Arias will get called up to AAA in a few weeks. Maybe he'll get a late season callup to BOS. There really is no rush as this is a completely lost season. Arias can get as much work done this offseason hitting against trackman as he can being up in Boston right now.

I don't expect Arias to be a second coming of Betts. Lets face it, If his shortstop defense is not major league caliber then he should be moved off short. I'm assuming he is a major league defender.

I'm good with him spending his time batting at the bottom. Can he really be worse than how Durbin started for us? Really? Why is he ranked #1 in our prospects list? We must really be bad if the consensus is our #1 player is in reality a horrible prospect that may not play for few years. Why is everyone lying to me? Sure let Yoshida play everyday. Is everyone that stupid in Boston?

DD think AAA was necessary. God I miss him.

He's one of the best prospects in MiLB. Who is saying he may not play here for a "few years"?

I'm not an expert on when minor league players are "ready."

I keep hearing how we destroyed KC by rushing him. (I don't agree, BTW.)

I'm pretty much done with Story, especially at SS, but I doubt Brez is. A Story-Mayer platoon at 2B could be acceptable, if we add 2 big bats somewhere else (SS, DH, C, 3B?)

I'm not seeing a major winter 40 man roster crunch or Rule 5 worry, so adding Arias before we need to for Rule 5 purposes is fine by me, but I think we have other players we need to evaluate as possible 2027 bench pieces.

soxprospects.com says Arias in early 2027 "ready."

When I look at the Red Sox roster, there is a lot of guys who probably shouldn’t be on an MLB roster and definitely shouldn’t be starting. Anthony Seigler, Nate Eaton, Nick Sogard, Mickey Gasper, Andruw Monasterio and etc are not major league talent. I’d be a little more patient if these were young players or prospects you are hoping to develop but that is not the case.

Seigler is 27, Eaton is 29. Monasterio is 29. Sogard is 29. Gasper is 31.

The fact that I routinely watch these guys play and multiple of them bat top 3 in the lineup is laughable.

What has Nate Eaton done except look like a perfectly capable bench guy every time he was given a chance. Some people like Nate Sogard a lot and he's been fine enough. Seigler, Gasper and Monasterio are more taxi squad guys. The problem is that you don't want all five of them on the roster at once. Two at most is good.

Exactly, and to see them play this much with so few injuries to everyday players is the real eye-opener.

Anthony has been out all year, but we had 4 OF'ers and Yoshida to help at DH.

Romy being hurt did not help, but he was not really a lock at any FT position. IDK just got hurt, but he was the utility guy. Story's injury cleared some room for these guys to play.

Gasper is playing because Narvaez has sucked, and Wong might be traded soon.

The all healthy offense was never impressive:

C Narvaez/Wong

1B Contreras/Romy

2B Mayer/ Romy/IKF

SS Story/Mayer/IKF

3B Durbin/Mayer/IKF

LF Duran/Anthony/Yoshida

CF Rafaela/Duran

RF Anthony/Anthony

DH Anthony or Duran/ Yoshida & Romy

Betts also had veteran guys like Napoli, Pedroia and Ortiz to show him the ropes of playing at the major league level.

Who on this team is a comparable mentor?  Maybe Story? Possibly Contreras, but he doesn’t seem the leader/mentor type.

Durbin has moved from the shite house to the penthouse in remarkable time. Good for him.

Maybe  Caleb should be leadoff now amongst this bunch.

If a player is a good at defense in the minors, he's gonna be good at defense in the majors.

If a player is a good hitter in the minors, it doesn't mean jack shite in the majors.

Of course, I'm using Mayer as a perfect example.

Hey Gertie, Red Sox must be in town. Rockies have a  chance tonight

A ringing endorsement!

I can’t take much of these bums. Only when I get bored watching the paint dry then I’ll flip on the game..

Another nothing set of ABs by some disinterested guys.

Bennett pitching his butt off, below 40 pitches through 4.  Getting no help at all

How many teams can roll out 3 consecutive LHP rookies and the execs contend they are contending. An embarassment....of riches
