I'd keep and wouldn't think twice.  I mean, there is always the possibility of any overpayment for any player, but I don't see it in this case.  At a minimum, I'd wait until the off-season to get a better idea of where Anthony is at.

Duran is doing everything possible to bring his trade value to near zero.

I'd rather non tender him than offer him an arb, where he can make $8-10M.

Trade him before he gets to negative trade value. (like Today?)

We would probably do great in a laid back environment, where nobody even heckles the umps.

Maybe COL? LAA might be perfect.

We? You going with him?🤔

You could be right.  But if one thinks in converted numbers to $$$, how much would we get in a trade, and how much will he be worth in he reverts to form?  And what are the odds that he returns to form?

And perhaps just as importantly, who replaces him in LF?

Yoshida and Ward.

Eaton can play OF, if needed.

All should hit .620ish or better.

Braiden Ward replaces him until Roman is ready.

Duran’s stock has plummeted on BTV.  Over the winter, Duran had a surplus value around $80 mill.  Today, they rate him at about $8.3 mill,,,,

Duran might be the most difficult player in baseball to predict, but that just doesn't sound right to me.  I'm sticking with him.  From 5/1-6/2, he was the #15 position player in BB.  Could someone lose it in only 26 days?

...and they call me a Duran hater.

I wish you were someone else's GM calling on Duran.

No idea, but I do know someone could have a crazy hot month that doesn’t line up either the rest of their season.

For example, that stretch you highlighted, Duran wasn’t the 15th best player in MLB; he was tied for the 11th best with a handful of players.  Some elite talents (Freddie Freeman, Junior Caminero), some rising stars (Andy Pages, Otto Lopez, Dillon Dingler)  and some less impressive names (JJ Bleday, Brayan Rocchio).  A wide spread.

So you ask can someone lose it in 26 days, and the response is “did he even really have it this year?”

Let's face it, nobody has a clue. 🙂

He just too unpredictable on so many levels- from offense to defense to emotional, mental and body type (Physical).

He changed positions.

He changed his stance and approach more than any player I have ever seen, and it's just been 6 seasons, including two tiny sample size ones.

He missed the road trip to TOR during COVID. He's had numerous run-ins with fans. He's had countless base-running and defensive, mental blunders.

He's had stretches, some very long, where he looks like a top 15 to 20 everyday player in MLB. Other times, he looks average. Still others, he looks totally lost- both on O and D.

Nothing in baseball is predictable, but you try and get as close to it as you can, and with this guy, it's impossible.
