I like the idea of the Sox being early sellers. Who of the everyday players would you consider untouchable?

I can only think of Rafaela and maybe Abreu.

I’d trade Rafaela now while his stock is high. Crochet, Anthony….that’s pretty much it. Trade the rest for a bag of golf balls.

Only players I don't trade from current roster are Crochet, Tolle, Early, Bennett, Ranger, Anthony and Cedanne.

Chapman, Gray, IKF, Weissert, Coulombe, Kahnle, Kelly, Slaten, Guerrero, and Watson should be the focus.  Open to Duran but he’s not exactly making himself marketable.

But dump the bullpen.  Relievers move easily in July.

Kristian Campbell down to .216 for Worcester. Whiff on that contract.

Depends.  Is he actively working on things or just playing the game?

Huh? He’s working on getting K’S. Doing it quite well too. He’s closer to going back to Portland than he his coming back to Boston.🙈

Yep. Said the same thing yesterday The problem is it's doubtful Breslow is getting back what he really needs in a firesale: good wood that keeps the fire burning...

... unless someone overpays for Chapman, who could be the one guy -- the gem of the deadline -- who may define the fate of Brez.

All the rest of those names, including Gray and his contract, won't return much more than a similar list of names from the prospect ranks.

Now that's a pretty bad trade TBH.

Shhhh... a golfer is about to hit a ball that isn't moving on the ground right in front of him ... shhhhhhhhh.

Thank you for your insider input, even though you clearly didn’t understand the question…

You think Chapman isn’t going to be dealt for similar names from prospect ranks?

To me thr most interesting Sox reliever is Tyron Guerrero.  He’s been flat out amazing, granted for only 10 IP….

And that is why your not in charge.

The only “sell high” candidate on the Sox is Tyron Guerrero.  Why would someone who has no faith in Breslow making good trades suggest trading away good, controlled players?  It seems you want this team to be bad.  I mean it is obvious since you blatantly cheer for them to lose…

And you wanted to keep him in AAA...

Honestly, I really didn’t even want him in AAA either..

So far it’s 10 IP, but I’m glad he’s making me wrong…

I ALWAYS want what is best for the team. This year that means losing as many games as possible to improve our draft position. Of course I have no faith in BresLOW. He is incompetent. I could almost certainly do a better job. Maybe you could too. So the first step is showing him the door. THEN doing what is best for the team, and that includes trading Rafaela while his stock is high....because by the end of the year, just like last year, he will get worn down and his value will be far less. This is the best course for the team right now because right now they are full of bums.

Yeah....I know. The golf balls are probably worth a lot more.

The MLB draft is a crapshoot. The only good part about getting a higher position is the additional pool $ that comes with it.

So you are claiming that the talent level in the draft is totally unassociated with the position a team has in the draft.

I think you know better than that. While there may not be much difference between #6 and #10 we both know that the #1 or #2 is more likely to be more talented than #20. So lets shoot for getting the worst record in baseball. We are already well on our way at #6.

Red Sox aren't getting to #20. I'm just saying there aren't many benefits to tanking from where they are to tanking to a higher pick other than the larger draft pool. The picks themselves don't pan out the way NBA and NFL high ranking picks typically do.

The chances are that the higher the pick the more talented the player will be. Not always, but I would rather take my chances with the #1 pick....or the #2 pick than the #10 pick. This season was lost almost before it began so its time to plan for the future and admit that the team is now too full of bums to do anything for a few years. One thing that would help is losing as many games as possible from now on....you know, TANKING. Thats the best thing for the team right now. So............LOSE BABY LOSE!

Of course he'll net minor leaguers, but he's our best chip to get prospects who don't have "Pitcher" listed next to their names.

If I have any say, I'm holding the Chapman auction until the last possible second for the best available BAT, preferably one that can reach green seats in fair territory.
