Monasterio gets the nod, tonight and is batting 6th.

Yoshida bats third, while Duran sits.

Yes, Cora "will find a way" to make it all work out, but for a team struggling to score runs, benching Duran seems counterproductive.

We should have traded an OF'er. (BTW, did anyone notice Paredes is on the bench, too?)

Cora will find a way to get everyone playing time. Whether it works out, or not is another story. Masa was going to play, so would you rather Anthony, or Abreu got benched?

Really need Big Game Bello to show up and keep the Astros in the dugout wondering why they cannot hit him

Goodness, Roman looked clueless on his 1st AB leading off.  Takes 3 straight strikes, FBs , all hittable

They said he’s 1-7 with 5 Ks against Brown, so at least there’s some logic to it.  Yeah, I know, SSS, but that’s what you get with most individual hitter/pitcher matchups.

7 Sox batters and not a struck ball has crossed the infield/outfield line.

Right now I’d settle for a couple ropes like Smith just hit.

Swinging and missing is very tiresome.

Well then you gotta love Anthony who looked at 3 straight fastballs right down the middle.  If this is the proverbial sophomore slump, it's a beaut.

You forgot about that long fly ball by Abreu that Correa caught in fair territory 40 feet behind 3rd.

6 of 9 batters for Boston have K'ed.   At least Anthony swung this time

All on fastballs IiRC.  Maybe one wasn’t.

I did see it but  on a technicality, it didn't cross the infield/outfield edge grass/dirt line. It did cross the fair/foul line

IMO, still think the  initial season start on the road is a psychological bummer for the Sox players . They have not been in their own homes for about 2 months .     Guys are edgy and non-functional.

Yes, Boston weather in late March is highly unpredictable but so is about half the U.S.       Put dome on Fenway, lol

Even our Gold Glove CF and RF are just missing long balls off Bello.

Say what you like about the meaninglessness of ST, but I think there is a carryover and right now the Sox have a notable hangover

2 strikes, 2 outs pitching.  Brayan hasn't quite mastered that skill yet, but he's young and has a contract.

Wasn’t a foul ball,  so it had to cross grass/dirt line fair, especially off a left handed bat.

But this is what we’re reduced to, discussing whether a pop up was fair or foul.

Oh look, two fly balls to left.
