I'd like to see at least a semi-dominant performance from Gray tonight.  It doesn't count for much, but I'd like to see some momentum from our pitchers.

Early and Oviedo have had very strong ST's. Crochet, Tolle and Suarez all have decent WHIP's, which may be a better indication of how they are pitching than their current ERA's due to SSS.

It looks like an actual BOS lineup? Just need the last few WBC guys back.

He was scratched for Cloudy Gray.

Night game, so we're going with Moonie Gray.

Tolle seems to be ready to go! 💪

A lot of minor league hitters in the lineup, but those numbers are impressive against anyone.

Those are the hitters he'll be facing in the beginning of the year anyway.

Early sure looks like the real deal.

I try not to get my hopes up, but he was consistently throwing 4 good pitches.  And had just enough heat to get some tough strikes when he needed them.

Since today’s game (Thursday) is an evening game, will the Sox still have an open practice in the AM? I have flexibility Thursday & Friday morning and wanted to try to catch some practice, but wasn’t sure what the practice schedule looked like when there is an evening game (Thursday), or when they need to travel an hour for a 1p game (Friday).

I don't believe there is MLB open practice anymore. I think there is MiLB practice in the mornings. The gates typically open at 9AM. However, they have started the A, AA and AAA games so morning practice could be limited. I would assume the MiLB games start at 1pm, but you should try calling the park directly.

Early would be my pick as the one guy on the entire staff to give the most consistent starts over the entire season -- a guy the team never has to worry about giving the Sox a regular chance to win...

... I didn't say the best starts, but consistent innings from a repertoire and delivery that seem less likely to have command issues or blow out an elbow -- compared to the rest of the rotation.

Crochet had injury concerns before last year, Gray and Suarez are vets with mileage on their arms, and Bello's career so far has been a Russell Stover box of chocolates. Tolle and Oviedo are monsters but still working on control.

However, though he deserves to break camp with Boston, Early will probably be sent down because management has more invested in other starters. But as soon as he's promoted to fill in for an injured arm, he'll be up to stay.

ROTFLMAO!  Still in ST, but you are in regular season form.  I got to find a way to use that line in conversations.

It also feels like we should give Samaniego more of a look.
