there is absolutely no reason to hold anyone running on contact with two outs from second base. the runner's job is put his head down, sprint and don't stop until the ump calls somebody out. It doesn't matter if it's a pop-up or comebacker to the mound... or even a throw that bounces off another baserunner on the other side of the diamond!
