I have returned from my one-day hiatus (I was attending the US Open in NY) to find that the Red Sox actually beat the Orioles? Perhaps they will repeat the feat when I am actually watching tonight...

US Open in NYC sounds great.  

Last night was in fact a surprise because Buehler dropped out of the rotation and Cora went with a patchwork quilt that worked surprisingly well, especially with Duran's 3 run dinger.  

Now Giolito, Bello, and Crochet start the next 3 at Camden Yards--an opportunity not to be lost.  Sox pitching has been great, the hitting less so.  Defense also good.

It shouldn't have been that much of a surprise. Moving Buehler was announced by Cora prior to the game on Friday night. They talked about it on the broadcast and it was posted on here.

True he announced it last week, but we didn't know who would start and then restart until yesterday.

2 straight games with Hamilton at 2b instead of Gonzalez.

I think it's a strict platoon, except when Rafaela plays 2B.

Romy bats only against LHPs, and since Lowe is MLB's worst batter vs lefties, I think Romy plays 1B v L and DHam will play 2B v R. Rafaela will play 2B vs some righties and all lefties. Having JH Garcia fills the platoon role w Abreu, until Ref returns.

I do see great value in Rafaela in CF over 2B, but we'd need to talk Cora into benching Yoshida, so we can play all OF'ers.

Sox aren’t even at the top of the AL in Ks.  In fact, they are 4th.  Angels have over 100 more than anyone else, but the Mariners and Tigers are next.  Crazy game.
