Nice box!  I think this is what the genius Breslow meant by having your pitching and hitting "in alignment."

A line meant to project progress for the rest of the season is on a big graph on a white board in the Sox analytical dept.

It's actually two lines: one colored red pointing straight down, another colored green going up.

Red stands for Boston's position in the standings. Green represents sales of new City Connect merchandise.

The latter is the bottom line...

It's better than the Yankees offense.

Also, Mayer hit 2 dingers to win one game, and Anthony had a 2 run double to hit another.  Both of them out hit Devers in the first five games of this streak.

We need everyone to hit at least some of the time.

Meanwhile, Buehler is throwing crap and the Mariners are up 5-0.  He had nothing tonight and everyone in the ballpark knew it.

Except for the small fact that the Yanks lead them in practically every offensive category.

Smh, where do people come up with this stuff?

Buehler is a bust.  Another $25 million up in smoke.  I don’t understand the FO’s addiction to surgically repaired pitchers.  And the best one who was finally fully recovered, they traded for a minor leaguer whose career is disappearing who is blocked in the IF by better players.

And why is it that none of the cowardly GMs will bring back Trevor Bauer.  There isn’t an Al Davis in the whole group…. Or Boss George.

If the Sox were addicted to surgically repaired pitchers, wouldn’t Sale still be here?

Buehler was a “make good” contract where he was given the chance to prove he can still pitch.  So far, it’s not looking good for him.  It’s a one year deal thankfully, but at some point he might become DFA material, especially when they decide to see what Harrison can do.  In the meantime, his job is to absorb (what will likely be very painful) innings and keep the totals down for Bello, Dobbins, Harrison, and eventually Houck…

Bauer is done.

He’s been eligible to return to MLB for years and no one wants him.  Hes 34 years old now and pitching for the Yokohama Bay Stars, where he is being out pitched by teammates Andre Jackson (career minor leaguer) and Anthony Kay (journeyman reliever).   No team wants to tackle the PR nightmare that is Trevor Bauer only to find out that at his age, he’s mediocre or worse.  Think about how disgusted we’ve been with Buehler, and Walker had NEVER has any abuse allegations, and his troubles have all revolves around pitching himself into repeated injuries, which is far, far more acceptable behavior…

Bauer could have been an interesting sign for some team a few years ago if you knew he'd shut up and just pitch. Now? He's past his prime and is a mediocre pitcher OVERSEAS. At best, he'd be a 5th starter with really bad PR. Why take on that headache?

Do you think the Sox are concerned about bad PR? If they were, they wouldn't have traded Devers when they did.

Trading Devers can be spun. Signing Bauer is much harder to do.

I attended a game in Yokohama on April 9 when Trevor Bauer had been removed from the active BayStars roster for undisclosed reasons.

Bauer has since been reinstated.
