Where the heck would this team be without Bregman.  Imagine if you had to count on Devers for an RBI once in a while.

Duran hits more line shots into outs by aiming them at the defense. He has hit into a lot of accurate shifts or bad luck

Read my above post.

It may take a couple years but soon enough the Devers contract will be referred to in the same context as Panda's or a long list of other dead money deals

Devers has already done more during his contract than fat panda ever did. No contract will be as bad as big fat panda's. That guy sucked. Fat and out of shape. Didn't care at all. He was on social media on the crapper during a game. That says it all about that bum.

The Sox lead MLB in dead money deals.

Timely win, and was that the first time to pull out the win after 6 innings ? They were tied at 3-3, not trailing but got the win.

Never confuse  Chapman with a pitcher . He is an unusually talented thrower of the baseball.   5 for 5 in saves

Good win, mostly thanks to Bregman and Abreau and the bullpen.

Tomorrow it's Bello vs. Leiter at 1:35.

Then off to KC and Detroit for six road games.

This may change by tomorrow am but.

AL Top 20 OPS Leaders

# 2 1.013   Bregman

# 3 0.980 Abreu

#18 0.846 Campbell

#20 0.800 Devers

We have 4 in top 20, Yankees next with 3

So glad that we signed Bregman, did not trade Abreu and decided to start Campbell despite his mediocre spring training offense.

Trevor Story is not a good hitter.

You can say that again

Knicks came back from down 20 again to beat the celtics.

I can think of almost nothing more boring than professional pumpkin chucking.  Hallmark movies perhaps.

Millar talking about Kyle Schwarber on NESN. I said it at the time and I will say it again, the Red Sox blew it when they let him get away. Talk about the ultimate DH, team guy and great influence on teammates.

he didn't fit Henry's budget at that time

Doubtful.

All deals get bad eventually.  At some point, the Dodgers will be paying Mookie $30mill to be an average to below player.

Devers’ deal will eventually do the same, but he’s already been more valuable on it than Panda was in 5 years.  And he’s still only 25…

OTOH the total dollar value of Panda's contract (95) was about 30% of Devers's extension (313.5).
