Looks like Casas provides the catalyst for notable  change in the Sox plans for 2025.

One, Triston may be done and of no further value .    Two, someone other than  Gonzalez needs to be the answer at 1B.  Gonzalez can continue in his role as a bench multi-position player/PH/PR.

Three, we get to see where the "Sit-by-myself"  Rafael  Devers, with the big contract , actually fits in as a premium player on this team.  It should not be as a DH only.

Fourth, Is a multi-move shuffle about to happen that brings Anthony to the Show ?

Regrets that Triston may have a serious leg injury, but that occurrence has only made the inevitable moves happen.

I still haven't determined which ex-Sox player I dislike.more: Clemens or Boggs.

Clemens by a mile.  He basically sucked his last 4 years in Boston, then miraculously became good again in Toronto.

Boggs really wasn’t pursued by the Sox after he reached free agency.  Clemens turned down a huge contract offer and there is the steroids thing.

Time to send Hamilton to AAA. Also have to find a first baseman. Romy is not an everyday player. Also have to hope Slaten and Whitlock can start pitching better. Those two blown games to Toronto were awful.

As I have said previously,

it's time to bring Anthony/Mayer/Grissom and take down 2 of 3 of Rafaela, Hamilton and Gonzalez.

There is NO WAY Anthony is worse than Rafaela. There is NO WAY Mayer is worse than Hamilton.

What are you afraid of Brez? We may become a better team?

Dan Duquette low balled Clemens and said he "was in the twilight of his career. Huge mistake. I didn't like Clemens when he was pitching for Toronto and the Yankees but he has come back to Fenway many times. He still does a lot for the Jimmy Fund. I like Clemens now. He is a great interview when he is in the booth. Boggs doesn't come around Fenway much. Of course, his kid isn't playing like the Rocket's.

One other quick " eye test "  observation while watching the Sox hitters flail vs Joe Ryan.

Other than Bregman, not sure any of this lineup can hit a true MLB fastball.

Somebody has to teach Rafaela plate discipline ASAP. Guy swings at everything.

He’s never going to learn. He had his chance. He failed. He’s JBJ reincarnated.

Looks like we're run scoring machine with so many black holes in the lineup.

AND Breslow waiting for the kids in the farm to get 30 yo to call them. Brutal!

Apparently it's going to take injuries to make changes because Cora has no balls to ask for reinforcements. "Hoping" is not a strategy.

Duquette didn’t say he was in the twilight of his career; he said they hoped to have him  during the twilight of his career; Clemens also turned down the biggest contract ever offered to a Sox player at the time.

Either way, he still tanked his last 4 years in a Sox uniform, especially when compared to what he did afterwards.

Devers  certainly can't unless it's low.

With some help from his little friends.

No, Clemens said the PED's were for his wife.

What a loser.

Knew it

K on a ball a foot off the plate. This team is not making the playoffs if the don’t jettison bums who can’t make contact with the baseball.

That is NOT TRUE. At the end of the 1996 season, Duquette stated that Clemens was in the twilight of his career. This perception was likely based on Clemens's final four years with the Red Sox, which, while still productive, were not his most dominant.  Look it up.

100% this! Put Grissom at 1B! Send down Rafaela and Hamilton. Our young talents can’t be worse. Simply no way!
