I believe Mr TBD is Hunter Dobbins.

In my dynasty league I have Dobbins and it has him starting. I’m not sure I’ll be starting him but Fantrax is usually pretty accurate

Not sure who is the real underdog in this game.

Perez is a flyball pitcher with a low chase rate and no velo to speak of. The Sox just saw him last turn in the rotation. Unless Fatse is truly toast, the Sox need to tee off on him at Fenway. Red shirt magic tonight.🪄

With the day off, one would think we could do better than Dobbins, but WTH.

Before the season started, we knew a few guys were out injured, but I still had Dobbins pretty far down the list:

1. Crochet

2. Houck (struggling)

3. Buehler (maybe improving)

4. Bello (IL)

5. Crawford (IL)

6. Giolito (IL)

7. Sandoval (60 day IL)

8. Newcomb (surprise rise in ST'ing)

9. Fitts (newly placed on IL)

10. Priester (traded away)

11. Criswell (used in pen, only)

12. Dobbins (looking at 2nd start, already) or Fulmer (using in pen)

Wink & Whitlock are pen only, now.

Nobody had Newcomb in teh top 10 before ST'ing, so in a sense we have used 3 SP'ers that were ranked no higher than 8th or 9th on the December rotation depth chart.

1.38 Crochet

3.18 Fitts 3GS

3.60 Dobbins 1GS

3.63 Newcomb 4GS

5.23 Buehler

9.16 Houck

N/A Bello, Crawford, Giolito, Sandoval (Criswell as SP & Priester)

8 Games started by these depth starters with an ERA in the mid 3.00's!

Not bad, so far.

I just stepped out of Logan Airport. This weekend is the first weekend I am back in Boston after moving away in September 2023. I will be at Monday’s game. So many emotions going through my head, both good and bad, but excited to get back to Fenway!

50% of White Sox wins this year * 18 games total) came at the expense of the now .500 Red Sox.

This clearly calls for a 4 game sweep, Smee.  3-1 if you have to, but nothing less.

It is amazing that the Red Sox went so deep into 2024 at the 3rd WC point , 5-8 games over .500 but totally flopped out from there.   The defense and relief pitching completely fell apart.

This year, relief looks much better with the positioning of Whitlock and Chapman  showing ability, if not overuse.       The infield defense remains a question mark.

Hitting ???   Time to get it going, boys.  This series should remind us of the Cardinals series.

I have no idea who is pitching, but I'm pretty sure no one will be hitting.

LOL

It doesn't matter, jad mojo runs strong!

We are tied for last playoff spot with 2 other teams.

Need to get some separation beginning tonight.

They just need to worry about being above .500, not the standings.

Our quest to leave .500 far below us begins tonight.

It's actually the same thing. We are playing to get into the playoffs. You should always know your goal and where you are.....obviously playing over .500 increases the chances of getting into the playoffs. BUT THAT'S ALSO NOT THE CASE ALL THE TIME. I always look at the Wild Card Standings.

To me, they need to learn to walk before they can run. If they are barely consistently above .500, I don't know why I'd even look at the playoff standings. Get above .500 for a while and then I'll look.

Are we better off having Campbell bat 2nd and moving everyone else down? It would break up LL combo.

Pros and Cons? Please don't tell me it will hurt Devers explanation.

Maybe? I think they should also stop moving him all over the diamond.

That I would agree on.

We have a kid that would lead all 2B with OPS of .900. He needs to stick there and get better and more comfortable defensively.

We complain about needing stability at 2B now for many years and then what do we do?

I like the idea of Campbell up 2nd and Devers 4th (more RBIs.)

1. L Duran

2. R Campbell

3. L Abreu/ R Bregman

4. L Devers

5. R Bregman/R Story

6. R Story/ R Refnsyder

7. L Casas/ R Romy

8. R Narvaez

9. R Rafaela (Anthony?)

I like Duran, Campbell, Abreu, Bregman, Devers, Story, Casas, Naraez, Anthony/Rafaela....that's .646-.900-.959-.929-.684-.767-.509-.500-.520 (OPS)

It would be helpful to update the bullpen use for off days.......I'm more interested in pitches thrown and the number of days the guy is not pitching.

It appears as though Chapman has thrown 5 pitches in 3 days. In reality he has thrown 5 pitches in 4 days. (Thursday was an off day)

The 5 slot has high value in modern line-up theory. I'd be okay with Devers up 5th, but I might flip him and Bregman vs RHP and LHPs.

Benintendi is the only White Sox player with contract for 2026 (and he has one for 2027).

One day at a time for these guys.

So encouraging to get runs early and have Story become the story for all the right reasons.

Mr. Dobbins, you have a gift waiting if you know how to pick it up.

Is it too early for NO HITTER WATCH on Mr. Dobbins? (3 innings)
