Richard Fitts makes his first start of the year as the Red Sox look to split the series with the Rangers.

First full game I can watch this season. I have a feeling this his is Devers breakout game. He just needs something to get his some confidence, even an infield single or lineout would do at this point.

This will be a fun season for me. 

Getting to watch Fitts start is one example.

Cora made the right call with Campbell. I can't wait for Mayer and Anthony to join him.

Me personally, I rather watch Mayer play than Story any day. My guess is he'll be hurt at some point.

Fitts works his way out of a potential bad inning , only giving up 1 run on a sac fly.

A few continuing trends from "24

A. Sox do not score early, leaving men on base.

B. They play from behind, making the comebacks more exciting

C.  Pitchers have trouble closing the door with 2 outs and men on base. In this game Fitts got it done

Also, our hitters are not seeing many pitches.

Devers is essentially an automatic out right now. It’s really hard to watch, especially when we know how good he is

At least he advanced Rafaela to 3rd, a productive out (?), unlike Duran and Bregman who missed the opportunity to get a run.

Fitts continues  to be efficient with 29 pitches through 3 giving him a decent shot at 6 innings.  The man needs some run support now.

He swung at a s***** pitch out of the zone and hit a weak grounder to advance Rafaela to third with 2 outs. It wasn’t very productive as with two outs Rafaela is likely scoring on any hit anyway.

One more continuing trend:  Wong chases breaking balls ( curve/slider) low and away until he K's.  He will never be a significant bat until he learns to recognize the spin.   Never understood why catchers have a hard time recognizing spin or the ball coming out of the pitcher's hand.

Devers is clearly pressing. This is ridiculous meanwhile the Yankees have no problems scoring runs. I said it wss important for this team to get off to a good start and they look lethargic .
