Casas and Story have watched a few called 3rd strikes too. Drives me crazy. Protect the plate.

Rafy now 8 for 10?  I'm losing count.

Devers with 10 K's in 1st 3 games is a record. Congrats Devs.

I know it is still early.  Games in March and April don't really count , but Devers and Casas, despite his one hit, are not ready for primetime.  Story and Bregman close by.

10 LOB's and 11 K's  continues the hitting futility .  Campbell and Abreu the 2 bright spots in the lineup.

I think tomorrow, they will score 9 and get a split in TX.

“Aren’t ready for primetime” based on 3 games in March? A lot of guys slump, it just looks worse at the start of the season when guys averages can fluctuate a lot or stay at .000

I know it’s early but’s important to get off to a good start.  I think it would be disastrous if this team flops this year.

Do you remember the overhyped 2011 season?

I think Cora is obsessed with the schedule, so much so that he left Buehler in to give up 2 more runs in the 5th and a 4 to 2 lead for Texas.  The bullpen is still unscored upon but Cora hates to send them out there because he wants the starters to pitch a minimum of 5 innings and preferably 6 or 7.

If Cora pulls Buehler before the 5th, the Sox could have won the game 3-2.

Meanwhile Texas is up 2 games to 1 because their manager loves to use his bullpen.

I am overstating the case against Cora--of course I am--because the real problem so far is the lousy hitting.  Tonight the Sox were 1/12 with RISP.

That was a collapse of epic proportions. That team won 90 games still but collapsed badly. They went 8-21 in their last 29 games. Complete crapfest.  Yes i know that was awful but I feel this team made decent acquisitions. Have to start delivering.

Put unhappy Devers on 60 day IL and bring up Anthony.

But Anthony is 0 for 3 already.  He needs to go back to AA, obviously…

Yeah Devers and Casas are clearly AAAA players.  Just like Jose Ramirez, Mike Trout, Luis Arraez,  and Francisco Lindor.  How do these clearly unqualified players even make MLB?

But do any of these other guys have 10 Ks in 3 games like Devers?

didn't the Sox hire a hitting coach the Yankees fired last year? if so, i blame all the poor at bats and hitting on him.

No, but Trout is doing it against the White Sox.

Dillon Lawson.  The Yanks fired him because their offense had become a one-dimensional, home run or strikeout thing.  I was baffled when the Sox hired him.  Now he's been promoted to assistant hitting coach.

well....he's done a helluva job teaching them how to strike out.
