Agree. Wasn't it a Dodger who as a baserunner would break up double plays by simply fielding the grounder? That's what led to the rule that doing that intentionally makes the baserunner and the hitter outs.

So you are saying there was a Dodger player who, as a baserunner, was able to field ground balls to prevent double plays? Must be a great fielder to barehand those hot shots. I call BS on that.

Kenley gets out of the inning but always plays with fire , deep counts. But he has been that way long before coming to Boston.

Aromarama with his .212 BA forces a walk from Kenley, who truly hates 1-2-3 innings.

He looked like something was wrong after the second hitter. Didn’t really get over to cover first on the grounder either.

Don’t know about fielding the grounder (sounds like a once in a lifetime happenstance) but I certainly could see allowing yourself to get hit by a batted ball to break one up.

That too.

I don't understand how his knees can hold up with all that weight. Doesn't matter, the TDL is ovah.

Wasn’t it John Krukmwho once quipped to a female reporter “Lady, I’m not an athlete, I’m a baseball player”?

Those guys all have tough hands, plus they also have the option of letting a screamer go by. I've seen replays of baserunners fielding grounders, but can't be sure they were Dodgers.

Send the link to the videos. There's no way. If its slow enough to field, there would be no DP. If its a hot shot, they wouldn't touch it. BS,BS,BS!

DHam did a wonderful job for us, over a pretty long period of time. His speed was a lethal weapon, too.

I'm wondering, if he can still be "that guy." Before today's 0-4, he has struggled, a lot, for over a month. (22 games and 75 PAs)

.186 0 3 (.240 OBP .243 SLG .483 OPS and just 5 SBs)

I'm not sure Romy and Sogard can combine to do better. I'm not sure Grissom even gets another look, in 2024. We might be back to square one at 2B, after a short break of optimism.

Why didn't Duran steal there? Game would be over now

Only thing I can think of Snider was going with the slide step and varying his release times. Duran might not have felt he could get a jump.

If I were the Mariner manager, I’d have walked Romy and taken my chances with O’Neill

i regret that the Sox will play O'Neill about 50 more games this year

"Always" is a harsh word.

Kenley did carry us for a long time, and had a 21 game stretch from April 20th to July 3rd, where he pitched in 21 games, finished 18 of them and went 3-1 with 12 saves.

He could not have had that much drama by only allowing 14 hits and 3 BBs in almost 22 IP (0 HRs) and a .439 OPS Against.

He sucked to start the season, and ha ssucked since July 4th. He has not always sucked.

Sounds like a legend that might predate video.
