Surprised Devers got anything to hit, especially after the first 2 pitches.

Good point. Why pitch to the hot Devers, especially with 1st base open. He should have received an IW.

Mariners' manager got lot 'splaining to do.

Not to take anything away from the great season Duran has had, Mr. Devers has been unbelievable, all year long, but even more so, of late.

He's up to .990! (5th best in MLB and by far his career high.)

No question. Devers has been Deverstating for the last month.

Yes, his .940 mark on June 30th sucked.

(JUst joshin' ya.)

Now a 6 game road trip for this. 3 against the rangers and 3 against the royals. Let’s see if they can have decent road-trip.

I was picking on Devers earlier in the season; you were smart enough not too.

He went 1 month at .872, but failed to get many hits w RISP.

It just seemed like a small sample size to get so critical about.

I'm guessing Garcia will meet the SOX in Texas, which makes perfect sense.

At 2-0 , you are totally correct and wondered why they didn't put him. I guess Servais didn't want to lose to a 3 run HR, lol. That situation was not well handled by manager or pitcher, who could have semi-intentionally walked him.

Not giving Devers an IW is one of the biggest bonehead decisions I've seen by any manager this season.

"All year long" is a reach. 7 RBI's in April , combined with the .872 OPS tells me he wasn't CLUTCH back then.

More Devers numbers:

2nd in IBB with 9 (Seager at 10)

3rd in ISO .300

3rd SLG at .606

4th in XBH 55 (Duran is 3rd at 58)

5th in OPS .900 (.002 from Whitt)

8th in OBP .384 (.001 from Kwan)

9th in BA .306 (.003 from a tie for 6th)

9th in HRs 24

17th in RBI 69 (5 from 8th and 8 from 4th)

I mentioned that, but I still think .872 does not detract from "unbelievable" all year long.

BTW, clutch is not a skill set.
