That collision would have knocked Ellsbury out for the season.

Adrian Beltre sees your knocking out of Ellsbury, and raises you one knockout of Jeremy Hermida…

Sean McDonough not mincing any words on the postgame radio comments. Said out loud that Hamilton is not the solution at short and that they are getting nothing out of several others.

Breslow knows this; Henry's not going to let him do anything.

IMO, Hamilton needs to be sent to Low-A and told to learn to catch the ball.

So Rafi stayed in the game but is going to go through the Concussion Protocol according to Cora. How does that make any sense?

My apologies...I thought it was Duran out there in the near three way collision in the OF. It was Rafaela playing CF.

As to the earlier question about moving Rafaela to CF. I would have done ANYTHING to keep Hamilton off SS. Whatever it took.

No post game meal for you. I couldn't figure why you were jumping on my man Duran who wasn't near that shitshow./ But to even it out, Devers was way too far into left field chasing that ball over his head. The SS normally would have a better angle on it . The short LF also makes it more likely a charging Lf'er has the best- position .

One problem with continual roster and position rotation is that the fielders do not have experiential knowledge as to how their teammates tend to play certain situations.

Cleveland outplays the Sox every which way you can.

Sox are now 2-5 at the Fens. Appropriately, I think average attendance in those 7 games is about 30K.

That's not very good. Doesn't this stadium hold close to 38K?

I'm sure he meant O'Neill.

He needs to rest his shoulder so the concussion protocol is a great deflection

Pretty close to that. A couple thousand short of that for day games, because they put a black tarp over the area in dead center in those.

Well Rafi is not much of a 3rd baseman. I will grant you that. He is somewhere between abysmal and mediocre at 3rd. While he likely was too far out into LF, he caught the ball and held it and still took a galloping stride or two before the collision. O'Neill for his part appears never to have known where Rafi was which was why the collision was so violent. Neither player knew where he was on the field.

The announced attendance is not always an accurate count of the actual number of fans at the game.

Oh I'm sure it's even less than that. A lot of corporate seats that are empty but because the tickets have been bought they count it towards the attendance

Right. For whatever reason , teams like to inflate the attendance numbers. But the no shows are not buying any beer, hot dogs or peanuts.

Did McDonough really say Henry won't let him do anything?

David Hamilton is 26. If he can't play an average SS by now, he never will. It's not coaching, it's a skill issue. Bloom was able to acquire him because Hamilton had little value. He's fast, limited defensively and has a below average bat.

So if one adds up those 3 descriptions=Half-fast.

This popgun lineup will put up a lot of zero’s if it doesn’t get some help.

Especially if O'neill is out for a bit.

Fun fact, as of today he led OPS in ALL of MLB.

The Sox are 22nd in batting average and 19th in OPS.

That’s not going to cut the mustard in the AL East

We will be in every game this season if we can just play competent defense. Doesn’t have to be spectacular

Given the current personnel that’s just not realistic

I said that yesterday and was told I don’t believe in practice…

and they lead the league in errors. notwithstanding O'Neill's start, the ONLY thing holding this team up is the starting pitching. surprising to many, i'm sure. and, i think, we all know this won't last.
