Campbell on a SSS. maybe Kavadas...

Lugo is el fuego: 2-2 w 7th HR and BB

So I was right saying that Lugo should be the org's hottest hitter?

Yup.

If we're doing SSS, it'd be Zanetello: 1347 OPS, 524 OBP, 6 G, 6 R, 7 H

Now, yes. Right after K Campbell's 4-4 game, no.

@SoxProspects

Red Sox affiliate WHIP leaders (15.1 IP minimum)- 5/6

1. Justin Hagenman- 0.98 (AAA)

2. Connelly Early- 1.02 (A+)

2. Blake Wehunt- 1.02 (A)

4. Cooper Adams- 1.07 (A+)

5. Zach Fogell- 1.09 (A+/A)

6. Angel Bastardo- 1.14 (AA)

7. Wikelman Gonzalez- 1.15 (AA)

8. Zach Penrod- 1.17 (AA)

9. Jason Alexander- 1.18 (AAA)

10. Hunter Dobbins- 1.19 (AA)

Hagenman may get a call up this year at some point. Early is still showing up strong for a first year starter and may get promoted to POR later this season. Chicken farmer Wehunt is sneaking in well under most people's radar, but he's been slinging it. Bastardo may be trending towards the Winckowski/Murphy role, but still has a decent shot of moving up the ladder. Gonzalez has had a few really rough starts early on, but has turned it on lately. Penrod has that high powered arm that I likened to a Red Sox era Andrew Miller.

He is exciting - the athleticism is beyond reproach.

So if the Sox do manage to stay close and have to make an addition or two at the deadline, what prospect(s) would folks deem expendable but good and intriguing enough to deal for help?

Any hitter outside the top 3!

Ok… but which ones would someone want? Also - pitching? None that anyone wants?

Last year we tried to give away Paulino, but now he's outhitting Meyer, Teel and Anthony.

Edison can play anywhere -- which means he may be promoted before any of the other future "position" prospects...

I just called Chaim in St. Loo and asked if the Cards had a lower level, expendable power arm. He just said, "Hold on, I won't get right back to you."

I cannot guess how each team grades players, but I think blies, Yorke and Jordan might interest teams

Teams seem to want prospects closer to ML ready, so Yorke and Jordan make more sense than Bleis.

I'm not sure these guys have much trade value:

Kavadas

Meidroth

Hickey

Sogard

We may try to "sell high" on Paulino and or Lugo.

Maybe E Valdez can build his stock back up, despite his poor D.

Dalbec, Mata, DHam, Romy & Short are replacement level players. No trade value,

Yorke is a hit first mediocre 2b with a 737 OPS in his second go around in AA so far.

Blaze Jordan was drafted for light tower power, but he's morphed into a contact hitter who struggles with velo.

Miguel Bleis has all the tools you would want, but has never put it together. There's a little bit of unluckiness there for sure, but he needs to at least show something in game.

The Sox system is highly rated because it has a lot of depth, not because it has a bunch of highly rated guys. Aside from the big 3, I'm not sure there's a lot of trade value there.

Trading for any prospect is always about potential and projection. But right now, everyone in the Red Sox system in "on the charts."

So, we are rated highly due to our depth beyond the top 3, but none have high trade value?

Yeah, but if you're trading for potential and projection, you're not giving up much for it.

Yeah, there's a lot of "decent" but not top end prospects. Nobody that would bring back anything decent at the trade deadline.

Fitts is a back end starter. Wikelman is a back end starter, but most likely a reliever. Those are the two guys in the high minors that could be dealt. Perales is too far away. Sandlin is too far away. Sox are probably reticent to give up pitching prospects anyway since their org is hitter heavy.

Did the Sox try to deal Paulino last year? I don’t remember him being in any actual rumors…

I think Paulino was just a symbol on the board last summer of all the expendable non-Mayer middle infield prospects that Bloom had hoarded in his Era -- and refused to deal in any package for uprgrades to the big league roster. Not that there were ever any reports that any other club actually coveted any specific Red Sox prospects...

I think his ranking in the Sox system also equaled the ranking of another dealt prospect in another system.

He’s an ok prospect, but he was with the Sox before Bloom…

I know. It’s cheap but I’m not on board with this development.

@SPChrisHatfield

As I'd first reported a couple weeks back would be the case, Mikey Romero has been added to the FCL roster as a rehabber.

None of the trades that got suggested on BTV never actually happen anyway.

Nobody goes there, anymore: it's too crowded.

You have to pay to still see ads. You have to pay MORE to get rid of the ads. Aside from the trade simulator, what else of value does that site have?

Notta.

Maybe to see actual trades scored?
