It would be kind of funny if the Sox sign Bauer, after he got the stamp of approval from Mookie.

It's hard to know what to do in cases like his.

I'm not sure Mookie's approval carries much weight.

Some team is going to sign him. It appears he was set up. Sox need starting pitching despertately.

Appearances can be deceiving, but yes, there is evidence that shows that could be true.

The evidence that she set him up and concocted other victims to come up with a similar is story is much much much stronger than the evidence ever was against him. And his career and life were dramatically changed.

He deserves his life back. She belongs in jail.

I don't disagree with a single point made, here, but none of us know the full story. (I'm not taking her side by saying that.)

I do believe we should assume innocence, when we don't know, and certainly the recent evidence that came out points to Bauer being the true victim.

It would not upset me, if we signed Bauer.

Trevor Bauer was entitlted to his day in court but dismissed his suit. Instead Bauer chose to take his case to the court of public opinion where his infomercial video would not be subject to cross-examination and contradictory evidence.

Bauer dismissed his suit without extracting a retraction from the woman; the woman dismissed her countersuit without extracting an admission of wrongdoing by Bauer.

We'll need to be resigned to never learning the truth. That's fine.

Many MLB teams will shy away from Bauer but the rightlander is likely to land a job.

Here is an article that supports what you said.

Not everything is known.

Evidence is that he beat the s*** out of her. Choked her out and raped her after she was passed out. Cool dude! I’m glad we keep talking about this!

The reason the Sox CAN NOT sign Bauer is because freaks like you are unable to talk about him without bringing this s*** up. It’s a PR nightmare.

Sorry for your trauma.

I'm not changing my opinion over a video filmed by Bauer to do damage control so that he can earn millions of dollars. Bauer is a piece of s*** online and seems like one offline as well as it exhibited by numerous non-sexual encounters people have had with him.

Regardless of how people feel about the accuser, Bauer is now tied to it and the Sox would be f***ing stupid to sign him.

The only memory I have of Bauer is watching him on TV in July, 2019, when he got mad on the mound, turned and threw the ball over the centerfield fence.

Tito immediately left the dugout, confronted Bauer in the center of the diamond, and mouthed, "What the f*** is wrong with you!"

The next day Bauer was traded to Cincinnati. Cleveland was a 93-win team, and missed the playoffs by a few games that year; with two months to go, Bauer still finished second on the Tribe in games started -- but it was apparently worth it, to get rid of him.

As someone who deals with cases like this for a living, I could not disagree with you more. Being open-and-close about a high-profile case like this one saying it's "damage control" is merely perpetuating a very real issue of people gaming the inter-gender violence system for their own benefit while damaging both real victims and innocent men accused of sexual violence. It also further alienates anyone with even a hint of an alternative lifestyle as "freaks". Quite honestly, the idea is beneath a gentleman and scholar such as yourself. As a baseball note, I'd be all for signing him on a prove-it deal.

I don't care.

I've said my peace. I don't know why you guys keep talking about it over and over again. I only butted in because it was brought up yet again.

i am not on either side of this because I know the Sox won't be signing him but I agree Lindsey Hill should be in jail. Bauer will be pitching in Japan again next year and unless Henry is changing his philosophy we will be signing a few veteran lower cost starters.

She belongs in jail proves nothing about what he did or did not do.

BTW, isn't there another case still pending?

Thank you.

Also lets take into account when, where, and why this video is posted. Lets assume for one second MVP is right, and this is a fake video fabricating evidence so Bauer can pitch again.

After the charges were dropped against Bauer filed a defemation lawsuit against Hill, who then counter-sued him. They both settled, there was discovery, Bauer posted the texts. Now whether or not Bauer made up "fake texts" implied by another poster with zero evidence other than (this circumstanially makes me right because otherwise I look wrong) is irrelevant because we know for a FACT that Bauer and his lawyer would have had access to said texts during discovery. That is fact.

If we were to believe MVPs theory is correct. We would have to believe a college educated man lawyered to the TEETH, who was JUST involved in a defemation lawsuit and effectively fended off an attempt by a women to steal his $35 million dollar net worth by making a story up would IMMEDIATELY turn around and publicy publish the definitive proof online that he just slandered someone. We would have to believe he would immediately incriminate himself, that he would make up fake texts, search the world for a woman who looks exactly like Hill and shoot videos to himself and her, and literally create a mountain of evidence that would lead to his own prosecution. All of this after a defemation lawsuit involving discovery and himself. If the texts and evidence that Bauer posted was made up, Hill would have the most OPEN/SHUT easiest to prove case in the history of defemation lawsuits and would be able to sue the s*** of of Bauer right now.

The amount of Logic you have to circumnavigate to believe "yeah....yeah that must be what's going on" is about on par with believing the earth is flat. It's abusrd.

Dipre, you are agreeing with someone's logic who is so smart that they are spelling it DEFEMATION. They definitely know all about the legal system!!! It's probably just like what they've seen on Law & Order, Boston Legal, Judge Judy and Ally McBeal (Old Red really liked the dancing baby).

Thanks for nothing, Bauer.

2012 did a good job at killing off most of this board. I thought the COVID conversations were what would put it out of its misery, but it may end up being Bauer in the conservatory with a youtube video.

And you guys complain about Red and me.

If you and Red could confine it to a few posts in a day, the complaints would probably be few.

What do you all think about O.J. ? Personally, I think he was guilty. Great running back, but lacking in human decency.

I think the cases of O.J. and Bauer are pretty far apart on the spectrum. There aren't many who don't think O.J. was obviously guilty of a heinous double homicide. Opinions about Bauer are all over the place. moon's take is one of uncertainty, and I think I'm with him on that. We don't have all the facts in our possession.

Indeed, and just because a witness is discredited, it does not mean nothing bad or illegal happened.

IMO, he's legally innocent until proven guilty, and I think there is one case pending, so...

Nobody can stop. We're like kids in a playground with nobody watching us.

MVP jabs and picks more than anybody, yet he tells me to stop.

My comment to Red questioning his statement was reasonable and respectful. You guys are turning it into something it was not.
