How about that? The first guy on the “Ship Kike Out of Town” bandwagon is also the first guy to comment on his stellar performance since he was traded…

I tell it like it is, and I give him kudos just like I did JD, Evol, and Wacha earlier in the season when they were doing good.

You also didn’t actively campaign to deal any of them off with the same fervor for the past 3 years…

I didn’t campaign to deal him off, because if you remember I wouldn’t have resigned him in the first place. A $10M waste, and I said it at the time. Thanks for the postseason of 2021, but what have you done for me lately?

If you "told it like it is" you should be talking about the on going injury issues of JD, Nate, Wacha and Xander's 676 OPS since 5/3. You just like to post about past Red Sox when they are playing well to stick it to the Front Office. Who cares? The players are gone! Worry about the guys that are here!

You disappeared for a long stretch last month which just happened to coincide with the Sox playing well. What a surprise!

You don't tell it like it is at all. You're just looking for the next rainy day. If you really told it like it is, you'd be more even handed.

There are many Red Sox fans out there who follow the exploits of ex Red Sox players especially the ones that you mentioned. Okay I haven’t mentioned the injuries, and the slippage of the ex players you mentioned either, so I’ll make sure I will when Kike sucks again. I disappeared on here yes I did, but just like last year I stayed with the Red Sox to the end when you, and others wanted a fire sale, and quit. Just like this year with your the Red Sox aren’t good enough so why bother to add anything, and just sell off again. That a loser attitude. Oh I forgot the Red Sox are planning for sometime in the future that something good may never happen. Sorry I don’t wave Pom poms like some do on here, but I don’t wave the white flag either. Like I say if you are not going to play to win then why play at all. Johnny from Burger King, and the word on the street will tell you that, but that’s only if you care to look.

I didn’t want any of them dealt, or do any fire sale like lots did on here, so why would I?

The loser attitude to me is to go for it in a season when the team is obviously not good enough. They just aren't! The loser attitude is being shown on the field right now. Adding a player or two wouldn't have fixed the many issues this team had.

If you're not going to play to win, then why play at all? Good point. Should have dealt Turner, Duvall and maybe Paxton.

So why not just tank? Why bother signing guys like Jansen and Martin when the team is projected to be .500 or a little better with them?

So many questions without answers.

I think they wanted to be good this year, they just were too up and down. If Kiké wasn't such a shitshow and the injuries to Houck/Sale/Whitlock didn't happen, maybe this team is in the thick of it and then you do make a trade or two? IDK.

They say they have a north star, but the ship seems kind of rudderless at times. They just have a good fishing pole.

Now we agree that this team way to often looks like a bunch of Little Leaguers, but I just keep the feeling that they will put things together, and play well enough, and long enough to get into the postseason, and then anything can happen. That may be more than wishful thinking, but that’s all I got. If it’s wrong then it’s wrong. I’ll admit I’ve become a bad baseball fan, because I don’t like the way things are done today, and I just think it’s a watered down product, but I do keep up what’s happening, and look at the box scores every night. We disagree, but I just don’t see a sell off when there is still a mathematical chance. I felt that last year, and I feel that this year. My football team years back were having a losing season, and I posted that I hoped they lost games the rest of the year to get a better draft pick. Long story short they won the SB that year, and I got roasted, and toasted. I get your opinion to a point, but just don’t agree.

The North Star is a long freakin' way away.

Who knows, and we’ll never know what this team would have done the last two years without out all the injuries. Outside of the little league play at times maybe things aren’t as bad as they seem, but like I said we’ll never know.

Bloom and Henry are well aware that if they don't put at least a competitive team on the field RSN would revolt.

Too late for a firesale. Going for it is the best option. And hope you simply get hot like Philly did last year…

It seems like people here thought adding Jack Flaherty and a reliever would make up for pretty much this team's entire rotation being a hospital.

Let's be reasonable. Nobody said that, just that it would help.

I was clearly relying on hyperbole, but I've been consistent in saying that this is a flawed roster. Help what? This team still has bad infield D and a entire rotation in the IL. For me, it was either find someone who can help this year and at least the next, or bust. But that's just me.

Sale, Whitlock, Story are supposedly just about ready to play again. Either that or we're being lied to.

Why would you assume Whitlock, Sale and/or Houck would be both healthy and effective the rest of the way? Houck and Whitlock proved neither, and Sale can get batters out, but apparently in 40 IP intervals....

I'm not assuming anything. Nobody can assume anything in this game.

Which is why I'm fine w¡th not supplementing this roster with rental only players.

Kike is 11-33 since leaving Boston with 6 RBI. Way to go Kike!

All he needed was a manager who doesn't treat him like his son!

How was it too late? The prices at the deadline showed that it was time to sell.

Sale may start this week?

Whitlock should be able to get into the pen at some point?

Houck is further behind than initially reported.

@SmittyOnMLB

Several Red Sox roster moves today:

Per source, Red Sox are selecting Kyle Barraclough. He’ll be added to the active roster.

Brandon Walter recalled to Boston.

Nick Robertson has been optioned to Worcester,

The Red Sox have DFA’d Dinelson Lamet

Bloom has acted like Mr. Dithers at the trade deadline two years in a row, neither buying or selling effectively. If we believed we wouldn't make the playoffs and would flame out quickly, we should have sold pieces we didn't plan on keeping for 2024 and brought up prospects that we do expect to make the roster in 2024. The halfway approach has not been effective and it is hard to see in gameplan in Bloom's doings.

I agree. They should have sold a few of the guys that aren't in the long term plans.

Even if ownership is happy Bloom didn't blow money or prospect capital going for it, they can't be glad he didn't optimize more expiring assets before they're gone... two deadlines in a row, now.
