Has there ever been so many catcher interferences to start a season?

Any ideas on why there have been so many?

Bloom's analytics produced a scatterplot of the absolute values of the 7-8-9 slots in batting orders vs. entrance velocities of starting pictographs juxtaposed over relief pictographs, producing a BABIM (batting average bats in mitts) of 0.00... since CIs don't count as ABs, even though they're Es, but increase OBP, thus OPS, the true metric of a hitter.

However, as catchers have not yet retaliated with getting smacked with wooden clubs, it's still unclear whether this will result in more WAR.

Maybe they are not online at game's end?

Or maybe they started one and, instead of responding, some insensitive poster started a second one. And maybe the original poster was deeply hurt and traumatized, and now feels that his services are unappreciated and perhaps has renounced starting game threats at all because it's possible he didn't understand the conventions of starting game threads in the first place but then maybe he thinks Scr*w that! he vows to be there for 4/20 and if he doesn't get there first he'll celebrate that holiday anyway. Huh huh huh? Had you thought of that?

Are catchers moved up an inch behind the plate? Maybe they're trying to make up for the larger bases

Yes, it could be the pitch clock and the pizza boxes making catchers more antsy than usual.

Potential change in batters' swing paths too. Ellsbury used to cause a lot of catcher's interferences based on his path and where he stood in the box.

Why don't people just start the next thread right after the win like I do?

In my case, pure superstition. I think my luck runs better waiting until the next day.

I also missed a lot of this game (last night) because we had dinner guests, family, impromptu.

So my dilemma tonight is how much to watch without jeopardizing the Sox and especially Kluber's chance to win another game. I mean, I missed a ton of Sale having his best freaking game since 2019.

I know this is nuts because the Sox have looked awful this year, especially at Tampa. On the other hand, they are 9-9, they did win the Angels series, and last night they beat the best pitching staff in MLB on a team that came to Boston with a 10-6 record.
