A very promising start by Sale tonight.

That being said, one has to ask himself which team will win another championship first? The SOX or the Patriots?

No matter which one is chosen it won't be for quite a while.

It's a stretch but the Red Sox can turn this deal around more quickly than the Patriots. If you do not have a top 4 QB in the AFC, you will not get to the SB.

LOB's by the home team , the bane of good pitching by the home team. Sale looks amazingly improved. i'll bet anything his side session went well under Bush's tutelage

The difference is command. He hit a lot of corners, including a couple the ump wouldn't give him. Vintage Sale even without the upper 90's fastball.

Minnesota lead MLB with the lowest ERA, but they also are near the bottom in scoring runs.

And now Winckowski gives up the dinger. But that slider was near the middle of the zone without much break on it.

That was deliberate by Correa. He tried to push Devers off the bag.

Sometimes when you are trying to kiss somebody you get too close with the body and stumble off balance a little.

Sale pitches well on a night that the Sox can't score off of Lopez. Yoshida is a joke. What a waste of $90 million. Bloom will lose his job over that one.

I'm gonna reply with the old war horse "it's still early."

Casas with 3 more Ks after a couple fouls. My thought here is that he is not showing the ability to catch up to the fast ball and hit it fair . He needs a better fast twitch trigger

Casas needs more seasoning at AAA. Yoshida too.

This offense blows chunks tonight.

Against the best pitching staff in MLB. After our first three batters, our batting averages, 4 thru 9, are .170, .167, .137, .171, .333 (Duran), and .077. My guess is if you average them out, they are collectively below the Mendoza line.

But, yes, it is frustrating to have 8 hits and just 1 run and 2/12 with RISP.

One could ponder how a team can be 2 for 12 RISP and only score 1 run. Obviously , one player in scoring position did not bother to score on one of the two hits. Which one was it?

The trouble with AAA is a player isn't gonna see the same quality of pitching he will see in the majors. When one sees some of the mediocre pitching in the majors,

one has to wonder how bad is it in the minors?

I hope its good because a lot of Boston's top prospects are really struggling to hit so far this year in the minors, especially Mayer.

Maybe this is the RS strategy with this lineup group: You have to assume the sub-Mendoza guys will sooner or much later revert to the mean and elevate their hitting in a torrid manner creating a multitude of runs . That will not be true of Yu Chang who will not last on this roster past June 30.

The other possibility is to simply wait until Story, Mondesi and Duvall to return unofficially restarting the season.

I did predict before the season started that both Dugo and Devers were gonna have excellent seasons offensively.

Quite a limb

Casas is lost at the plate. He takes a bat up there for no particular reason.

Just because he struck out 4 times? Boy, are you picky.

Prospect=A person likely to succeed. Likely being the key word.

Casas at this point looks completely lost at the plate. No hint of confidence what so ever.

Agreed 1000% I've not followed anything he did in minors... but I've yet to see ANYTHING that makes him look like a serviceable bat at this level.
