You'd love that. Nobody would ever fact check you.

If you could just keep up with what was actually said, your posts would improve.

Ever heard of a joke mate?

Then correction: He stinks *now* . Also has a bad attitude.

Plus he's Canadian. One Canadian pitcher is enough. We have 2 of them.

You should have quit when you had the chance, moon. Now we are all stuck with you fighting with Old Red until one of you strokes out.

Keep trolling.

I haven't responded to Red in over a week.

You're schtick is stale.

Thanks for the shoutout! Seems to me you told me before that you have put Moon on ignore in the past, so sounds like you two have been going at it for a long time now. You said something about being a loser when I went at it with Moon, so if the shoe fits then wear it proudly, because you’ve been doing it a lot longer than me. The worst part was thought you had Poor Bell all upset, because Grammy, and Gramp were fighting. Have some consideration if nothing else.

No, he's sucked since 7/1/22. 6.08 ERA, 2 QS in 25 GS.

4/01/21-6/30/22: 4.04 ERA, 4.19 xFIP, 18 QS in 46 GS. He was good for this time period!

The Sox acquired an innings-eating starting pitcher for two journeyman relief pitchers each with two months on control left and who have combined to play for eight different MLB teams (including Boston) since the deal. And people are complaining about this guy?

Complaining about how he's pitching from 7/1/22 - today, sure! Why not? It was a good trade, but that's besides the point. He shouldn't be in the rotation right now.

He had 3 horrific starts in a row in early July 2022, then went 4.65 in his last 14 starts of 2022, which is about his norm with the Sox.

We can all cherry-pick time frames, but IMO, Pivette has not been continuously awful or even bad since 7/1/22.

He's had pretty long stretches of being okay (like from /7/17 to 10/5/22) and even a few good ones, but there is no doubt, he has sucked, this year.

You can talk about "cherry-picking" time frames, but he also only threw 2 QS over 25 games from 7/1/22 to present day. That is a really long stretch. Ignore all the other numbers. It's not simply about a few starts dragging down the overall picture.

Agreed, but he wasn't all that bad from 7/1/22 to the end of the season. It was way more about being god-awful for those 3 starts.

He wasn't a bad 5th starter for 2021 and 2023. One would expect 3 bad starts in a row from your #5, for the vast majority of any teams' #5.

That was really the simple point I was making, and somehow it took on a life and form of its own.

The simple problem is that he's unplayable right now and doesn't have a history of success to suggest he'll right the ship.

I have just about no hope he improves or finds a niche as a RP'er.

He does have one instance in his history of righting the ship to a significant degree. He was decent from the trade in 2020 until those 3 bad starts to start July 2022 and then meh until the start of 2023, when he imploded and regressed back to where he was before the trade or worse.

Thank goodness you said "Pivetta" about 2 or 3 posts up. I think the Sox should hang onto him for awhile. He's definitely a starter (vs. reliever), but this year not a viable starter. We've already seen him demonstrate his current niche. Against the Padres he went 2.1 innings in a 7-0 loss and against the Angels 3 innings in a 7-3 loss. He's an "innings-eater" in games Cora expects to lose.

He may earn his way into more meaningful innings, eventually, but until he does better, this is his reality.

He may also get non-tendered after the season…

He has to duke it out with Kluber now for those mop-up jobs.

Pivetta in relief:

11.32 k/9

0.00 bb/9

0.68 WHIP

508 OPSa

2.61 ERA

2.32 FIP

This is just stupid. Stop trying to convince us Pivetta is better than Kluber since going to the bullpen. I don't care that Pivetta has pitched the 3d most innings on the team, that he has 2 quality starts, that he now has a positive (+0.1) WAR--and certainly not that in his 3 relief appearances he has gone 5 IP with 0 runs, 7 K's and 0 BB's.

We have already made up our minds. Pivetta is a dirt bag who belongs on the ash heap of history. He's a Canadian, and Kluber is a red-blooded American with a blazing 88 mph fastball.

@redsoxstats

The bullpen is heavily taxed heading into 4 games in 3 days against Tampa before an off day Monday.

The last 7 starts:

3 IP, 5 IP, 5 IP, 4 IP, 4 IP, 5 IP, 3.2 IP

@jcmccaffrey

Cora said last night there would be some moves today to get fresh arms for the pen so stay tuned.

What are they going to recall Ort?

There's more, Max. We have TWO Canadian starting pitchers.

More telling words and numbers...

The last 7 starts (9 DAYS):

3 IP, Day Off, 5 IP, 5 IP, 4 IP, Day Off, 4 IP, 5 IP, 3.2 IP

We also had May 18th off, which was 5 days before this list started.

This place is not without its issues, but overall I think it's the best. It's like therapy for me.

Highly ironic, but not without merit. Did you read the preceding post though?
