Kiké is better than Verdugo. Yoshida remains to be seen.

Casas will be good this year and lots of people will be wanting to get him a long term extension done.

The question marks are 2B, RF, C and SP.

Henry deserves whatever boos he got in public. Their lack of planning over the past 3-4 years is now biting them in the ass.

I doubt anything is done about C and RF, unless they decide Verdugo needs to go for reasons related to his workout and practice regimens.

SP? I agree it needs another arm, but not sure anything happens on that front either. I suppose they think the Crawford/Mata/Walter/Murphy/etc. troop provides enough depth.

2b or SS is a must add. That Wendle isn’t here even after Miami replaced him as a starter suggests either their price is too high or the Sox interest was exaggerated…

So another catchall thread is born?

All threads are catch-all. It’s the off-season and there’s only one thing to talk about…

After the second or third reply, every thread falls off topic.

Henry got a lot of respect for the championships with him as owner. However , he seems like kind of an odd duck who doesn't relate well to the average Sox fan. So when things start to go sour , the fans will express their anger towards him. Especially when the team finishes in the cellar , 21 games behind their arch-rivals. And when you seem unable and/or unwilling to retain your best and most popular players , it kind of boils over.

I saw a video of a couple guys yelling at Henry in the parking lot.

One said, "Pay Raffy!"

The other: "Pay anyone... under 40!"

I think one of them was Ole Red.

It was on this date 103 years ago that Sox owner Harry Frazee sold Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees to raise some needed cash for a Broadway play. While there was no TalkSox forum back then , it has been reported that some Frazee supporters wrote to the newspaper praising the deal. They said that the Bambino's stats were misleading and he would not do well in New York. And that Frazee wanted to improve the Sox' farm system. Also that No No Nanette was a darn good show. They referred to those fans complaining about selling Ruth as " cry babies."

And those supporters were referred to by dgalehouse's great-grandfather as "Frazee's Crazies".

The guy had a great 84 year plan!

These damn crybaby fans are so impatient!

Booing sports team owners is like booing politicians. It comes with the territory.

Probably happy to be recognized, even if by being boo'd. Now, if the family with you and it would not be too cool, especially if explicatives are used.

I told you he responded to crybaby fans.

Sometimes, they may serve a positive purpose.

Henry heard it from the boo birds one day, and signs Raffy a couple days later. Those big rabbit ears must have been burning that day enough to give Bloom the word to get Raffy locked up.

I still wish he wore earplugs, last deadline.

I doubt they drew up a contract worth a third of a billion dollars so hastily. I would bet Henry would allow you to book him ask day long and even pelt him with rotten tomatoes if it meant he saved over $300mill.

This was very likely already in the works…

He'd need them checked for silver bullets ahead of time.

I think a wooden stake would be the real danger…
