Amazing, with all this support for a poorly run last place team we have a good shot at repeating again next year

Man, another Red Sox team hasn't finished last since back in 2020. And you have to go all the way back to 2014/2015 to find back-to-back cellar dwellers in Beantown.

Though in 2013, 2016, 2017 and 2018 the Sox finished first. They're hardly ever mediocre.

Verlander has zero playoff wins, despite 30 playoff GS'd and a 3.40 post season ERA and 1.07 WHIP.

I don't think this is correct.

I guess the Houston radio talk show hosts are as bad as Boston's.

I heard it this morning, but I should have checked it our, first.

try the Yankee broadcasters, Paul O'Neil is the worst ever especially when he tells everybody how hard it is to hit a home run to right field, another left hand hitter blowing his own horn and a while back telling us how lucky we were to have Gary Sanchez who is developing into an all star catcher, his sub 200 averages and passed balls didn't count, I shut the sound off when watching

Verlander is 0-6 in 7 World Series starts, so maybe that's what they were talking about?

He's 8-1 in the DS and 6-4 in the LCS; 7-6 overall with Houston (0-3 in the World Series)

I could have sworn they said playoffs, but maybe my ears are going the way of my eyes.

I thought it sounded weird.

it's all moot, let's enjoy the post season with competitive baseball and be concerned with playing better and getting out of the cellar although it won't be easy and take some heads up maneuvering and it's not always because we can't spend, a lot of these teams spend less then we do, it's called leadership at all levels, that's true in all sports

Verlander has beaten the Sox a few times in the post season. All within the last five years.

I knew he pitched very well vs the Sox, but I did not recall, if he actually got credited with the win or was pulled in a 1-1 score game of before 5 IP.

Who gets the win is not always the most deserving.

What??? Talk-show hosts aren't well-informed? They don't bother to study or prepare? They get facts wrong??? I'm SHOCKED! Who can be trusted anymore???

In the last 5 years, Verlander has made 3 postseason starts against the Sox and 1 relief appearance. In those games he was the pitcher of record all 4 times with a 3-1 record and 3.92 ERA.

His best postseason outing against Boston was back in 2013 when he was outdueled by John Lackey in a 1-0 Sox win decided by a solo home run off the bat of current Cubs first baseman coach Mike Napoli…
