Moon, you are killing me.

You are half empty guy on few topics, usually you're optimistic.

(of course you'll respond "I'm realist)......beat goes on.

I'm counting on Casas, Arroyo, Kike, Devers to play 140+ games.

They are paid to play, no?

Believe it or not, I was you saying these same things you are saying about Arroyo a couple years ago.

On some things, I like to keep expectations low.

I like Arroyo, a lot. They guy can hit pretty well and his D is not half bad.

I actually have more faith in Sale than Arroyo, but don't ask me why. I have 10 GS as the over under on Paxton. That might be 6-7 starts too high.

Counting on Arroyo for 140 could be a mistake, though. His history says he's injury-prone, and because he's injury-prone and hasn't played anything like a full season, he's more likely to wear down faster.

He should be well rested, too.

Sale's arm is like a 29 year olds! (LOL)

True. With Arroyo, the question isn’t talent. In this respect, he’s like Eovaldi a few years back…

Like Nate, he is capable of giving us a full season or close to one, but until you see it, you remain skeptical.

He could easily play 140+ games if you give him 2 years to do it.

In a Winter Weekend interview shown on NESN, Cora was asked how he was already game-planning. Some of his combos were predictable: Yoshida-Devers to bat 1-2... two lefties but Sox could be up 2-0 instantly; bullpen -- Barnes in 7th, Martin in 8th, Jensen 9th...

Grateful for Kenley, AC gave a nod to Bloom, who he said knows how important it is to him to have a closer, especially after not having one for so long (...it's irksome, and perhaps telling, that had to be said).

Cora could have just named Whitlock or Houck closer at any point.

I had already posted these numbers.

There is a first time for everything... well, maybe not this one.

That was the biggest head-scratcher, to me, last season.

The whole piggy back thingy with Houck just made it worse.

Unless it was a mandate from Bloom, this was a big time mistake from Cora.

Good for you. Do you need a cookie?

Just curious why you responded to a post by me with a list I had just posted.

I'm guessing this was on Cora, but it was likely discussed by all.

Sure, but they weren't exactly proven quantities.

Then when Houck finally secured the job, he got hurt.

It was that kind of season...

This was widely discussed here, but never from management -- except the point when they tried it with Houck... who then made the personal choice not to be the closer in every city in the AL East.

You're not proven until you are. Cora needed to at least give someone a shot rather than do the committee thing. We know that doesn't work.

It's a smart personal decision to keep his OPSa down.

The whole treatment of Hill was absolutely ridiculous. They limited his innings like he was some venerable old grandpa who had to be pulled at the first sign that there might be a sign of pending trouble. Nothing was more egregious than that game against Baltimore where he was removed in the fifth inning after giving up his first hit of the game…

Okay, but your list was in response to my post that you don't read.

The worst part about that was that Hill had proven he was one of the best pitchers we had facing batters for the third time, yet they ley other go 3 deep but not Hill.

It seemed like Cora resisted even the notion that we have someone defined as the traditional closer.

We were losing so many games due to blown saves in traditional closer game situations. It seemed like a no-brainer to just make a choice and ride with it. If Houck or Whitlock failed, then try the other one.

It sucked we needed Houck to start early in the season, and then tried Whitlock for a while in the rotation, but there were ample opportunities to try one as the closer.

June 10th was when Houck became the traditional closer. WTF!

Well, he actually was a venerable old grandpa in baseball terms...

That crying did not lead to any changes, unless you think Cora buckled to the river of tears on June 10th.

No, the crying is usually ignored. ;)
