There you go with that idiot word again that gets used when something is over analyzed on here. I have said many times that I don’t agree with any big $300M-$400M contracts for anybody, so I wasn’t saying JH should do that. All I said was I didn’t care if he did, and you took it from there.

Sorry you didn't like the response. But I'm going to say what I think, just like you.

It’s so cute that you’re proud of yourself. Also it shows how you fit into my sweeping generalization…

Hardly, don't break your arm patting yourself on the back.

You're the one complaining about the posters here.

I don't spend my time complaining about everyone else on here. I don't go on nebulous rants about Swihart or moon or anyone. Like who cares?

If I comment on something it'll be directly to a specific quote. I don't lump people in as some pro or anti Bloom group, because I think those arguments are dumb.

"Why can't you accept different opinions?" But you clearly couldn't accept moon's opinion on sports radio. You had to get on a soapbox and say how actually moon is the bad one and that no in fact it's TalkSox posters that are the ones who are wrong. Well if that's true, then why waste your time here? It just doesn't make sense. I have no problem with differing opinions, but what's the point in trying to belittle everyone?

"This place sucks. You're all dumb. I'm going to post here everyday though." Uh, ok? That's a weird hobby.

I have said from day one on here that this forum is just a small measure of what the opinions are out in Red Sox Nation, and that is the truth. So it’s me not excepting Moon’s opinion, and not the other way around? It takes two.saying someone is the worst of the worst, and Bad Boys I would say that other people can’t except different opinions. When I first come on here I mentioned that I would not have hired Cora back, because of him being one of the leaders of the cheating scandal. Moon took it from there, and said I HATED Cora. He apologized later, but that’s how some on here over analyze, and jump to wrong conclusions, and use the hate, and idiot word to often, and if the belittling is done on here it’s more than 1 person doing it. Sucks? Dumb people? Where was that said?

Spot on!

He is a condescending know-it-all on here who talks down to others like they have no idea what they are talking about if their views don't align with his.

But back in reality (how apropos), he is very rarely right on his predictions or his multitude of trade proposals.

And he has his followers, which shows it doesn’t take much. He thinks the more words he writes it makes him look like he knows more than everyone else.

I loved the response, and I love 2 way streets.

Name one of moon's followers.

If you're problem is just a moon problem, then it seems like a lot of your posts overgeneralize the situation. I'll just ignore them in the future and understand you're just venting about moon.

So once again it’s only me that’s the problem, and the other mentioned party is not guilty of the same thing?

I'm not saying you're the problem. I've put moon on ignore a few times before. He can be annoying.

Seems like you're doing a little overanalyzing.

Agree with your assessment.

Yeah NE sports radio and journalism in general is atrocious. Too many of them adopt the attitude that complaining is a sign of intelligence, and therefore they dump all over every move and non-move the Sox make. Like Tony Massarotti, say.

Also I’m roughly 110% positive Gerry Callahan is one of those high school jocks who thought he could have gone pro, but he “banged up his knee right before senior year” and then never got that scholarship blah blah blah. So now he writes everything not only from a point of jealousy, but sometimes, FROM VENGEANCE!!!

Maybe these types of shows bring other entertainment, but they really turned me off.

Knowing the sports teams in their area is their jobs, and these guys were getting basic facts wrong, time after time. It's like handing Swi & Stork a show.

We held on to Betts?? Crap! Apparently I haven't been following the team closely enough.

The point was clearly about trading top prospects, and yes, Betts was a prospect at one point.

They are meant to get people talking. One way to do that is to rile everyone up. Having a reasonable discussion about the differences between bWAR and fWAR would cause ratings to tank and a few drivers to fall asleep at the wheel. It's meant to be half way antagonistic. It's meant to be in jest. It's meant to get some fans worked into a lather. It's worked for their ratings because they've done quite well.

If you every listened to Mazz on the regular show vs Mazz on his solo baseball show, it was like two different guys. It is just a gimmick.

I don’t think Your opinion of NE sports radio talk shows is a surprise to anyone. I would love to see a debate between you, and Tony Mass, or Shaugnessy.

Mass is two different guys on two entirely different venues, but I would rather listen to him on the Sox broadcast than Timmy Wakefield’s yucking it up.

If anybody really thinks Henry would want Bloom to extend Bogey and Devers and trade 4 top prospects for Soto and extend him is even close to reality, I don't think calling them out is some sort of wild or crazy position to take.

I'm not saying I've never had unpopular ideas, and a few that seem crazy to some, but on this issue, it's pure fantasy on the part of several talk show hosts and many fans I've heard over the last month while in New England.

On top of living in fantasy world, these guys often got wrong a player's age, years of control, and simple stat lines. One guy here in Maine said he'd pay Othani $70M a year and Soto $50M, and he wasn't joking. (Then, he said he'd sign Othani, because he was just 25.)

Seriously, I'm not making this up.

Maybe somehow I missed the best hosts and fans. I'm not saying everyone is a fool, but it was beyond absurd, most of what I heard.

I really didn't think this was going to spark such a response. I assumed most posters who live in the area year round, already know what I was talking about. Maybe, I just gut unlucky on my listening timing and channel choices. That could be what happened. I'm just giving my opinion on what I heard and provided some specific examples.

I was referencing his older baseball radio show that he'd do right after the show with Felger. Probably doesn't do it now that he has the NESN gig.

I get that, but expected people who do this for a job to at least have the facts in front of them.

These guys were roasting Henry alive. Maybe they didn't live through several decades of ownership incompetence to appreciate just how lucky we are he took over the team. Then, I think, even if these guys have only been Sox fans since 2004, Henry still has more rings than any other owner.

I'm calling it beyond absurd.

If my position is crazy or over-the-top, then so be it.

Listening to these shows did open my eyes to why some posters get all juiced up about the "pulse of Sox Nation" being against current team management.

Mass goes off on quite a tangent now, and it doesn’t take much to get him going, and sucks, and blows are his favorite term.

Henry gets roasted, on F&M, because he has rabbit ears. If he didn’t he wouldn’t have showed up at their studio one day while on the air to tell them Larry L runs the Red Sox. Priceless.

Their job is to get people to listen in, not to have reasonable takes.

True, but can't getting basic facts right help their cred?

You taking a position that is crazy, or over-the_top? Say it ain’t so. Wink, Wink. Nod_ Nod.
