The Eck is retiring from the booth after this year. Maybe he’s seen enough of the Bloom’s Mess too.

He will be missed. The difference between Eck and the other guys is like night and day.

To sum up. It is sad to see the Red Sox in this situation. I think new leadership is needed.

New, and good leadership is needed. The Red Sox situation just isn’t sad, but an embarrassment as well.

The only way that's going to happen is if Henry sells the team.

Henry is the guy responsible for all the many changes we've seen, from Theo to Ben to DD to Bloom.

I grew up with Curt Gowdy, Ned Martin, and the likes, and to go to OB, and some of the yuckers is a big step down.

It’s no doubt that Henry has been a GREAT owner bringing 4 championships to Boston, but maybe it is time for him to sell He has enough other toys to play with.

And to that I will offer the old maxim: "Be careful what you wish for."

I do not think Henry has any intention of selling. The Red Sox and equally important Fenway Park is the keystone of his sports empire. I think he is focusing on his other ventures at the moment. Once those are squared away he will focus on baseball again.

Hope you are right, and it doesn’t take to long.

So, you have your answer why they traded Vaz.

Regardless, he's still spending it....

It doesn't take his attention to spend money that he had already committed . Freeing him and his financial resources to buy an NHL team for 900m then allow LeBron James to buy into FSG so they in turn can try to obtain an NBA franchise all of which takes a lot dollars.

So, that doesn't mean you ignore something that you are dropping a fortune on. SMH.....

Not being the main focus of one's non committed financial resources is not the same as ignoring. I may choose to go looking to buy a new BMW. That doesn't mean I ignore my home and decide not to pay my property taxes.

He definitely makes it an adventure patrolling center field.

I think I can look little 'smoother' than he does on routine fly balls.

Duran was lucky they were playing in KC this past WE, and not in Fenway. Think the faithful would have let him have it?

The Rays have something we don't and can't match for young players.....Kevin Cash

To listen to the kid talk he only makes things worse.

Lou Merloni said today that Bloom is in hot water with ownership. It appears that ownership is unhappy that the Red Sox will not make the playoffs and still have to pay the lux tax. Their feeling is if we have to pay the lux tax then we should be in the playoffs.

That doesn't sound unreasonable to me.

Somebody has to say it - Dombrowski's Phillies are one of the hottest teams. They're 38-19 since Dave canned Girardi. He picked up Syndergaard and David Robertson at the deadline.

I don't doubt they're displeased. But Bloom's job is not in jeopardy, IMHO. That would make them look even more trigger-happy than they already do.

Has he ruined the farm yet and driven the big club into debtors prison ? Sorry Bell - I just could not help this. Someone will soon give us a reason explaining how the Phillies will be paying the price of success for years and years. My sarcasm is not aimed toward you Bell. lol

I don't think this is lost on anyone especially in the executive suite of Fenway Sports Group.

Gotta say this about Dombro -- he always deals for legitimate big leaguers to fill needs and improve his club. He's barely ever looking to outfox another GM to land a young, unproven player his people tell him could have promise (maybe because he never listens to his people).

Cashner was a miss -- but he was 9-3 with a 3.83 on a last-place team when the Sox got him.

I think anytime you are a cellar dweller with one of the highest payrolls in baseball that your job may be in jeopardy...
