How about Ceddanne Rafaela? Can he be the sparkplug the big league team sorely needs off the nugatory bench?

He's only in High A. There's no chance he's in MLB this year.

Maybe in 2024/2025

He's 1 for 13 over the past 4 games, 3 BB, 7K. Early on in the season, that can really tank your numbers. Before this stretch he was OPSing 937 and it's now down to 801. I'm not worried.

Never said I was worried, I think he's going to be a middle-of-the-order bat. Those are my expectations or dreams at least...I just don't think he's ready right now and needs more time in AAA. Especially if he's struggling a little bit, let him do it against AAA pitching and get a little bit more experience under his belt first.

I think they'll have to put him on the 40 man this offseason. At that point, he's probably going to get at least a looksee as a callup late in the season.

I think it's a really good bet by the time game #162 is played that Casas has taken a major league at bat.

Probably by game 100.

Really like the potential of binelas if the hit tool improves!

He's going to need to do well, just to shut up the Renfroe lovers.

Like Duran was, last year?

(I'm not saying he isn't ready, but Bloom & Co. know better than we do.)

There were always questions with Duran's hit tool. That has never been the issue with Casas.

Some Woo OPS to think about:

1.403 Mieses (6K/4BB)

1.177 Refsnyder (9K/11BB)

1.036 Fitzy (27K/7BB)

1.018 Sanchez (15K/17BB)

.913 Franchy (23K/10BB)

.888 Casas (23K/17BB)

How long until these guys move up a level?

.858 Hamilton POR (17K/10BB)

1.024 Binelas GRE (7HRs)

.948 Rafaela GRE (6 HRs)

.919 Northcut GRE (8 HRs)

.886 Lugo GRE (12K/3BB)

.958 Kavadas SAL (25K/19BB)

Agreed, but Duran did hit as well as Casas in AAA:

.898 Duran (342 PAs)

.882 Casas (145 PAs)

Yeah, that's why you don't only scout the boxscores. Where Duran held his hands made it absurdly impossible to hit a FB. Casas has a natural swing.

Sanchez should be called up ASAP.

I want to see Mieses do it a little bit longer. I worry he'd just be stuck as a bench bat. At least Fitzy can play everywhere.

Where does Sanchez play? Do they bench Story or Devers?

I think calling Fitzy and maybe Duran up, first is most likely.

I think they wait on Casas to gain the extra year of service time. It looks like the plan is all about 2023 and 2024, anyway.
