Kavadas has 22 BBs in 18 games and a .475 OBP.

Nice to see Bello crack the top 100 with BA. Where are our 4 ranked?

Gotta love the 32:8 K:BB ratio for Bello, so far (20.2 IP) The BB's are a bit high, but when you K 32 in less than 22 IP, a little forgiveness is understandable. The .594 OPS Agaisnt is pretty awesome, too!

Others in AA

.381 Brandon Walter (29K: 0 BB)

.551 Murphy (28:11)

.594 Santos (21:6)

.638 Groome (19:5)

AAA

.540 Winckowski (9:4) Beni who?

.548 Seabold (15:5)

.601 Keller (17:5)

.619 DHern (23:12)

Downs with his 6th tater of the season!

If he can ever learn to make contact instead of striking out so much, we may have something with him.

And a strong game for Seabold.

Bloom looking smart again.

I'm not sure why I let MVP talk me off Seabold Mountain, last winter.

It's good to see him K 8 in 7 innings, so he's now up to 23 in 27.2 IP on the season with 6 BBs (1 today). His ERA is down to 1.63.

It's all so "non magical" how Bloom got these guys.

That blows away many current Sox OPS. (plus, it must be at about .300, now.)

26 K's in 71 ABs is not too good.

He's not a top 60 prospect per SP. They don't like his swing and miss. He's not athletic and has trouble with all secondary pitches. Maybe he can turn it around? Probably not with that k%.

@SoxProspects

Zack Kelly struck out the side in order today in his one inning of work for the WooSox, dropping his ERA to 2.08 over 8.2 IP. He's struck out 11 though he has also walked seven on the season so far.

Want to see him get the call soon.

How about Jay Groome's latest effort. Maybe things are falling into place for him.

A lot of our starters on the farm are off to very good starts. It's early, yet, so a lot can happen.

ERA/OPS Against pitcher (K:BB)

1.17/.381 Walter (29:0)

1.74/.548 Seabold (23:6) (1.63 ERA after today. OPSA not updated)

2.61/.594 Bello (32:8)

2.62/.551 Murphy (28:11)

3.41/.594 Santos (21:6)

3.60/.638 Groome (19:5)

All these guys are in AA or AAA, now.

Lugo is 3-5 and Binelas 2-5. Northcut is at 1 for 4. Yorke 1-5 and Jimenez 1-3 w BB. Rafaela doubled with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth to end up 1-5, and Lugo singled him in to tie it up at 5. Binelas flew out to end the rally.

8 starters on the farm, have an OPS Against better than or within 80 points of JBJ's .517 OPS:

.548 Seabold

.551 Murphy

.562 Gonzalez

.562 Uberstine

.594 Bello

.594 Santos

Then, there is Keller at .601, Dhern at .619 and Groome at .638

What about the best pen arms?

.259 Politi (8.2 IP)

.275 German (8.0)- the Ottavino trade

.421 Danish (4.1)

.423 Z Kelly (7.2)

Walter was amazing!

He finally walked his first batter of the season, 10Ks and 1 BB in 6 IP (3H and 0 ER)

In the second game, Bello went 7 without allowing a hit. (3BB 5K 1 unearned run)

Woo lost the first game 2-1, but Winckowski looked good, again:

5 IP 2H 0 BB 8K. They won the second game 5-4 with Pannone going 5 IP with 4H 2ER 0BB 4K. Ort let up a run buy got the save.

Greenville won 7-4 with Rafaela hitting his 7th and Northcut his 10th (3 hits).
