Anyone who wouldn't want Max Scherzer on their team is insane, of course, but I fear the amount of money he'll command may be too. And the Dodgers are just the team to pay it, with Kershaw probably not coming back.

Good comp, and Verlander is older.

 

Maybe coming back from TJS is more predictable than what Kluber went through.

 

In all honesty, forgetting what happened in 2021, I'd take this year's Verlander over last year's Kluber and Richards.

Brewers outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. will be exercising his $9.5MM player option to remain in Milwaukee for the 2022 season, according to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman (via Twitter). Bradley would have received a $6.5MM buyout had he chosen to decline the option and re-enter the free agent market. Bradley and the Brewers share a $12MM mutual option for the 2023 season that contains an $8MM buyout.

 

Really glad the Sox didn't sign JBJ to this deal. He was basically guaranteed $17.5M for 22-23 Woof.

We need a #1 or #2. I'd settle for a #2 and #3 pushing Pivetta to #5.

 

I think Pivetta might be one of baseball's best #5's but only an average #4.

To be fair, I doubt that means anything. Stroman is certainly not a bad choice, but I just like ERod better, and I think ERod will be easier to sign (assuming he gets a QO). But I will give Stroman credit because at least he knows how to cover first base...
