Yes, but you can't put it as your avatar. My concern is that we still have a few pro and anti FDR posters around here. Some of whom who could have voted for FDR like 4 times. SBF has been known to throw dimes back at cashiers if his change included that foul FDR.

Well SBF probably voted for Mercury…

I was watching Ancient Aliens with my son the other night and now I wonder if SBF has strong opinions on the Annunaki and if he ever met one.

@EvanDrellich

The MLBPA has been told negotiations are over for the day. At midnight eastern, the owners can lock out the players.

It's probably better I don't know what this means.

:P

I feel sorry for you.

I learned at a young age from Mr T that I must pity all fools.

That show is really largely just SBF’s home movies…

I was in the same room as him once during the 2005 ALDS vs the ChiSox. It was in a Red Sox bar in Santa Monica. If I had a time machine, I'd go back to that day and accidentally spill a beer on him and then try to scare him into never going on the internet again.

Wow. You almost met SBF. I always thought he was not a human but just some haywire AI program that was more into “artificial” than “intelligence.”

Melancon gets $6M x 2 with a $5M option for year 3 with AZ.

Knebel $10M/1 with PHI.

Ten days ago who would have thought that, despite a flurry of MLB free agent signings, the Red Sox would have signed only Michael Wacha, James Paxton, Christin Stewart and Rob Refsynder before the pending lockout?

It's only December 1 but the early results have been unexpected if not underwhelming.

In the Red Sox favor is that their competitors in the AL East have also done little.

The Jays were active, but they arguably lost more than they added- namely Semien & Ray.

There may be a moderate or big trade to come.

Steamer projects a 2022 WAR of 1.2 in 131 innings for righthander Dylan Bundy, who reportedly has signed with Minnesota for a $5 million guarantee in a one-year contract with an option.

Steamer projects a 2022 WAR of 1.2 in 126 innings for righthander Michael Wacha, who reportedly signed a one-year contract for $7 million. Wacha is 16 months older than Bundy.

This year Bundy posted 0.0 fWAR in 90.2 innings while Wacha posted 1.1 fWAR in 124.2 innings.

Marcel projects 2022 ERA of 4.73 in 120 innings for Bundy and 4.90 in 125 innings for Wacha.

MLB front offices certainly have more and better information than the casual fan.

Owners once again being a-holes, forcing a lock-out. Note that one of the key issues is the reduction in time required for arbitration or free-agency. The owners rejecting this is total b.s. Since they already know how much they are willing to spend, seeing that money drift to younger players won't cost them a freaking dime. Apparently, they find it an insult to their dignity not having total control over younger players, even when it has no effect on their bottom line.

As of now the Cot's Contracts estimate of our 2022 payroll for tax purposes is about $199,000 - $11,000 under the 2021 first threshold. That includes Paxton. But of course we don't even know what the 2022 tax brackets will be.

Your primary opponents in the AL West haven't done much either.

The Los Angeles Angels, looking to snap baseball's current longest streak of consecutive losing seasons, have signed Noah Syndergaard, Raisel Iglesias, Aaron Loup and Michael Lorenzen.

The defending American League champion Houston Astros have signed Justin Verlander and Hector Neris.

The Texas Rangers have signed Corey Seager, Marcus Semien, Jon Gray and Kole Calhoun.

The Oakland Athletics are waiting to cash in their trade chips.
