This year Bundy posted 0.0 fWAR in 90.2 innings while Wacha posted 1.1 fWAR in 124.2 innings.

 

Marcel projects 2022 ERA of 4.73 in 120 innings for Bundy and 4.90 in 125 innings for Wacha.

Since they already know how much they are willing to spend, seeing that money drift to younger players won't cost them a freaking dime. Apparently, they find it an insult to their dignity not having total control over younger players, even when it has no effect on their bottom line.

As of now the Cot's Contracts estimate of our 2022 payroll for tax purposes is about $199,000 - $11,000 under the 2021 first threshold. That includes Paxton. But of course we don't even know what the 2022 tax brackets will be.
