I will go with the Braves folding same as our cheap tent show in Fenway. Hate to have to win it in Houston but that's what big boys would do

Once again if they don’t come out with a lead in the first couple of innings they’re not winning the game. This offense is non-existent right now . Just bring a better effort on friday win or lose.

I like your optimism but at this point how about getting more than 3 f***ing hits . It comes down to one game to push it to 7 games. I don’t like the body language this team came out with today. What’s gonna change from here to Friday?

They will play much better in Houston than they have the last two nights.

I really hope you’re right but if they don’t score the first couple of innings i see their season ending in houston. Either way it was a good season. We shall see . I just wanna see this team fight on friday.

Well one good thing is they won’t see Valdez.

He’s beginning to remind of the way Gaylord Perry used to pitch against the Sox back in the 70s. Sox couldn’t touch Gaylord, and on the rare occasion they did score a few runs against him, Cleveland’s offense would show up.

You are all over your man Perez, SS. If they gave him an L screen it would be for RH pitcher though

I kind of feel sorry for the guy. He's doing his best. Why Cora put him on the roster makes no sense, but one never questions Cora.

It is absolutely not over. You've got Playoff Nate on the hill in game 6 and ERod lined up for game 7. You will have the advantage on the hill until the pens come in. I said from the beginning that this was going 7. After game 3, I would have been surprised to see it go to a game 6, but Cora was imperfect in game 4 which opened the door for the Astros to rekindle their spark. All it will take is for Baker to be imperfect (that's his status quo) to allow the sox an edge and Mo will go into their corner

OK, you've bombarded us with your condescending posts, but, at least, be honest for once and admit you're rooting for the Astros.

I have already admitted that. An ardent Yankee fan can never root for the Red Sox unless it benefits the Yanks

And an ardent SOX fan, which I am, would never be on a Yankem forum.

Not true. Been on plenty of Yankee sites and there were regularly contributing sox posters. This is a good forum for all and I have been here a LOOOOONG time.

Only a troll would come in to a Red Sox forum and root for the Yankees. Oh well, he and his opinions are irrelevant and meaningless. They are those of a frustrated and jealous Yankee fan who can’t stand the success of the Red Sox have had over the past 17 years. Even in 2003 when Boone hit that lucky home run, the Yankees choked and got beat by the Marlins in the World Series. LOL.

I’ll never forget the 2003 SoX team. Skanks beat us on such a fluke that year. It was all down hill for Booney ever since. Seeing him get bounced from the post season or not even make the post season year after year never gets old. Same story every year too. “I believe in those guys. We can get over the hump next year. We’re hurtin’ right now…” blah blah blah.. the guy is a poor excuse for a manager. The team has more money wrapped up with two ball players than Tampa’s entire payroll. I have no idea how or why anyone could root for that team. So who do they need to pick up this year? The eventual WS MVP? I thought it was Corey Seager?? Freddie Freeman perhaps??? Have I mentioned what a mistake they made with demolishing their old stadium? The funny thing is that they still call the new one “the house that Ruth built”. Talk about a reach. Polo Grounds gone. Ebbets gone. Yankee stadium gone. Hell.. they even got rid of Shea. That’s NY sports for ya. Let’s go Bklyn Nets??? Maybe if they have like five teams for each sport they’ll win rings on a regular basis. Maybe.

He's stuck around for a lot longer than 98% of the posters on here. I believe his was also kicked off a Yankees forum for being too negative about the Yankees. It's annoying that he likes a really dumb team, but I don't think he's necessarily malicious. He does provided valuable insight from time to time. If people are really bothered by him they are always free to use the "ignore" feature.

And if the Sox are just going to lose, might as well do it earlier in the day and not have everyone ruin their sleep for it.

Complaints about Perez should probably be directed toward the front office rather than Cora.

Bloom signed the guy two years in a row.

And at the trade deadline, the only lefty he added to the pen was Austin Davis.

Leaving Cora with one good lefty in the pen, Taylor, plus Perez and DHern.

Going with 12 pitchers would have taken away that choice, too.

Just sayin'.

Yes, but obviously they wanted another lefty. And Perez has good numbers against lefties. Just hasn't validated 'em.

I get it, and personally, I'd have taken Perez over DHern as the 12th pitcher, because he can go many innings in a mop up role and save other pen arms.

Have to assume Perez made the ALCS roster because he shut out the Astros last June. And Brantley has bad numbers against lefties -- except when they throw meatballs right down the fly (that's a PC as I can get) two days in a row.

While it's highly doubtful Perez will get a third chance this weekend, might as well start drinking now, because Darwinzon struck out Yordan last night. If Sale couldn't get Alvarez out in three tries, but Hernandez could in one, it's a sure bet we'll see that match-up again soon...

... just wish when it does happen that the Sox' season won't be at stake.

And I've heard: CAN'T USE DHERN IN THE POSTSEASON BECAUE HE WALKS PEOPLE!!!!!!!
