Two games tonight where the momentum has shifted to the other team. This game was there for the taking tonight and the offense couldn’t build on the 2-1 lead. Now the stros have all the momentum and the sox will have to find a way to get it back.

Cora gave up on the game when he brung perez. I still don’t know what the f*** he was thinking in a 3-2 game. He didn’t give his team a chance when he brung that clown in.

Haven’t been around much

 

Allow me to state the obvious, we completely blew that game and gave all the momentum back to to Houston. Left too many men stranded as usual and couldn’t cash in…… one has to think if we blow it today…… we’re in a lot of trouble.

I still can't understand why anybody is against robo umps.

 

Robo umps call that a ball. It was outside, but Diaz was giving 6 inches off the outside corner all game and finally decided to call the exact corner at the wrong time for the sox

Disagree on today's "need to win". I think today is close to a must win for the Astros. Sale is the weak link in the chain now and in Game 6, the Stros face the best pitcher either team has on their roster. The Astros need to play today like it's game 7. There is a good chance Playoff Nate tosses 6IP and 1ER in game 6 and I don't think the Astros have the horses to match that

Every game is a "must win" when you're down to a 2 of 3. Any loss massively reduces your chances of winning the series.

Still think it’s a must win on all accounts. In fact it’s more than a must win. Sox are a team on momentum. If anyone has watched them this year they would know that. They do well when they win a couple and go on a hot streak and the bats get hot. The second they lost and give the other team momentum they go to s*** and have trouble rebounding unless they play a bad team. They have done it all year. If they lost today to Houston, this series is over in my opinion.

In fairness Sales last 4 starts:

2.2 innings with 1 run allowed

1 inning with 5 runs allowed

2.1 innings with 2 runs allowed

5.1 with 3 runs allowed

 

These are definitely alarming stats. I don’t blame anyone for not being confident in Sale right now. He started so damn good when he came back , but latrly it’s been ugly. I think he can rebound but I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit nervous myself lol

Sox win tonight and split in HOU. That's all they have to do. Both teams are very capable of huge innings.

I agree. The Astros keep running out their relievers in the 2nd and 3rd innings. They are just delaying the inevitable implosion and need to win tonight. Sox are still playing with house money. Astros had higher expectations. They have already lost Springer, their core group may continue to shrink each subsequent offseason.

Also, the Dodgers and Braves are playing. Someone has to get the early game. They got it yesterday.

 

Dodgers fans should be able to watch their home team over the lunch break in the NLCS. It's good for the game. Think of all the kids riding home on the bus listening to their transistor radios.
